Even Christian summer camps have embraced gender madness

When leftists use the phrase “safe space,” they mean a place where they won’t be forced to hear challenging ideas. When I use the phrase “safe space,” I mean a place in which parents need not worry that their children will be exposed to so-called “gender identity” theory or that their prepubescent daughter will be sleeping in the same cabin as an 18-year-old man who “identifies” as a girl. Once, Church-run camps were that kind of safe space, but one family’s experience shows that you can no longer assume that’s true.

One of my favorite sites is Not the Bee, a real-news page for America’s most brilliant satire site, The Babylon Bee. Usually, the site has short news stories, tweets, or videos highlighting wacky leftism and good-guy regular Americans. Yesterday, though, there was something different: A detailed post about the author’s shocked dismay to learn that the wholesome church-affiliated summer camp he and his wife thought would be great for their 8-year-old daughter’s sleep-away camp experience was, in fact, a haven for so-called “gender identity.”

The parents did all the usual web-based due diligence. They researched local camps and found one that seemed blessedly traditional in terms of both summer-time activities (archery, crafts, etc.) and a church affiliation. Once they had the camp’s name, further digging from local families revealed very positive reviews.

One concern, though, was that the home page didn’t offer links to any one safety policy. Instead, it just boasted about the amenities it offered. Eventually, though, thanks to the kind of digging parents may skip, the author’s wife found an old post linking to the camp’s “Statement of Inclusivity.” It turns out that the camp is “all in” when it comes to gender madness. “Youth,” it says, “is a time of exploration and identity formation.”

I can’t believe that so many parents are not fighting the groomers.

Well the parents are brainwashed Millennials and snow flakes. I thought once the schools let the creeps into the girls locker rooms and showers that would be the line in the sand and this would blow up. I was wrong. There has been some blowback but not that much. The cancer is stage 4.

Where would you volunteer if you were a predator?

The evil ones have moved quickly—most parents are still stuck in normalcy bias.

They just had this in Greenwood Indiana, where a “minor attracted person” worked at an autism school. He was molesting the severely physically disabled and autistic students, you know, kids who are the least likely to defend themselves or even be able to report what was happening to them.

One of the outcomes of this, as Christianity becomes looked on as being “weak” on these matters, is more will become attracted to Islam. And of course, that brings with it a whole other set of problems.

The camp is owned by a presbytery of the Presbyterian Church, USA, an extremely liberal denomination from which evangelicals fled decades ago, and even moderates have recently fled. Support for ESG, DEI, and sexual perversion is to expected from such people. I am more worried about these un-Christian ideology creeping into evangelical denominations and congregations.

“...Christianity becomes looked on as being “weak” on these matters...

Depends on who’s looking. The conservatives, years ago, were the party of law. The liberals are the party of feelings (con artists as it should be called agenda)

I think a lot things the liberals have done over the years, the attacks on religion being a major one starting with Madeline O’Hare in the 1950’s getting the SCOTUS to assist the liberals in removing prayer from school. This accomplished two things, it put a real damper on the recognition of morals by our youth and also got her murdered.

I think it is possible that Christian people don’t think they can win the argument and/or don’t have the finances to do it. Look at the pastry industry when cake shops are required to create cakes that cater to homosexual behavior. They couldn’t win that one either. And the bad part is if they just don’t put anything on the top of the cake, who won...nobody.

You're absolutely right. However, it must be added that denominational Christianity along with the preponderance of the seminaries are "on board" as well.

Most churches have fallen under the control of the extreme left.

The PCA and OPC denominations (conservative Presbyterians) have stayed strong, although the PCA has flirted with liberalism. The Wisconsin Evangelical Synod Lutherans and the Missouri Synod Lutherans are also strong and solidly conservative, though the Missouri Lutherans, like the PCA, have a compromising wing. Assemblies of God are strong, as are most independent churches out of the Dallas Theological Seminary tradition, as are most Churches of Christ. I am worried about the Southern Baptists reverting to pre-1980 liberalism.

There are still Bible teaching and believing Christian churches if you know where to look, all you have to do is pray that God will reveal them to you!
