You are a man of culture and taste. Zappa was a freakin’ genius. No mention of David Gilmour so far in this thread.

If I had to mention Gilmour, it would be his second solo on “Dogs”.

Doc, Tommy, Roy, Chet, and Jerry. Those guys are legends.

It took Eric Johnson doing a song called, “Tribute to Jerry Reed” to make me realize how great he was, I mean when Eric Johnson, of all people, does a tribute, that says something.

Tommy jokes that Chet told him, "Tommy, you're such a good guitar player, I have a little statue of you on my mantle."

Tommy is a natural prodigy. The things he does with a guitar is incredible - he makes it sound like an entire band. Classical Gas

Well, OK.

Mendelsson Violin Concerto, OP. 64

Performed by Itzhak Perlman with... some orchestra that no one identified.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC6cPairOTA

Speaking of Perlman, here's a little something just for fun that he, Perlman, does effortlessly, just for fun here and there, maybe if there are a lot of kids in the audience.

Dance of the Goblins, from Scherzo Fantastique by Antonio Bazzini, OP. 25

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmpSrzivE_M

Also the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto OP 35 is uh, pretty good.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXV4cE0AVK8

It was at first considered unplayable, until... someone played it. Now it's not unplayable, but still it's not just anyone who can play it. /Captain Obvious

Likewise speaking of Tchaikovsky, check out Variations on a Rococo Theme, OP 33 just for fun.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_591VkMY4iQ

Let the music speak for its own self. Thanks for axin'.

Eric Johnson is a bit effeminate for me.

Robert Johnson is the Godfather of rock.

Not much more to tell, really. It was 40-plus years ago, Vassar and Doc are gone, and probably nobody but my wife remembers it.

And Heifetz with Mendelssohn violin concerto. We need to bring some civilization here to the benighted.

Don’t forget Charo (a one-time student of Segovia). Cuchi-cuchi notwithstanding, that woman could play a guitar.

If we’re talking Guitar then I’ll through in Joey Bonamassa , I’ll play the Blues for you. He opened for BB King when he was 12 yo. He’s fantastic.
