I am more and more of the opinion that Joe Biden is going to be 100% cgi soon. No more embarrassing “gaffes” such as total disorientation, goofy speech remarks and probably 1-2 hours of staged “work” followed by seclusion and a “lid”.

Biden 2.0 will be muscular, have incredible endurance, have a gift of witty repartee and one liners and a charm that won’t quit.

In a strange paradox, the US Congress, over the decades, has weakened the presidency by the granting the executive branch more powers.

Abraham Lincoln only had to deal with seven secretaries in his cabinet. Trump had 15 secretaries, three directors, two administrators, and one trade representative in his cabinet.

So on paper it seems like the president has gained more power, but in fact, it is the permanent government bureaucracy (deep state) which has increased power and regularly exercises this power by limiting executive decisions.

Eventually, this structure will have to be overturned. A sclerotic bureaucracy that is primarily concerned with its own survival and interests cannot respond to the needs of the citizens and a quickly-changing world.

Kennedy didn't rock the boat. He kept J. Edgar Hoover and Allen Dulles. He had Republicans in his cabinet. Nobody else was rocking the boat much either.

Nixon got in trouble with the permanent government and it broke him. Reagan was able to handle them and they didn't break him. I guess Clinton was able to control them too.

If presidents are more troubled now, it's not just the Deep State. It's also all the activist groups. Challenge either and you're in for trouble.
