Dominic DiNapoli (Dom DeLuise) is the middle child of an Italian-American family in New York City. He lives in the upstairs apartment of his older sister Antoinette’s house (Anne Bancroft) with their little brother Frank (Ron Carey). Their cousin Sal has died from obesity at the age of 39, which has led to Antoinnette harping on Dom to do something about his own weight and eating habits. Dom joins Chubby Checkers, a play on Weight Watchers, but finds his sponsors seem to possess as weak a will as himself...

The marriage between Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft is a wonderful story. Mel Brooks is still with us but Anne died of Cancer many years ago. In her honor Mel Brooks put together a collection of her movies.

Best Scene: having locked up the kitchen cabinets with a padlocked chain to prevent Dom raiding them during the night, the two brothers enthusiastically turn in for the night. The next sequence shows a closeup of the little brother sound asleep when into the picture a pistol appears aimed for his head with the voice of his usually mild mannered brother growling “ Gimme them keys - gimme them goddam keys!” The younger brother, realizing it’s a fake gun shames his starving older brother to tearfully admit that, yes, it is a fake gun, whereupon he grabs a butcher’s knife and screams “But this isn’t fake! I’ll cut your throat down to your balls - now gimme them goddam keys!”

I did see that movie but sort of had it mixed up in memory with the one where he was trying to save best-buddy Burt from killing himself in the ocean. Dom’s movie was indeed far better.

I was told you were an especially hateful individual to communicate with. Thank you much for confirming that so I won’t bother you any more. Merry Christmas to you anyway.

I'm NOT "hateful" at all, however, you, on the other hand.....

I know "FATSO" well, which obviously you don't, since you just admitted that you had it mixed up with a different film.

Merry Christmas to you, in the same spirit that you wished that sentiment to me.

Right sure...bless your better heart. I concede you are a better person and surpass my experience and intellect, rendering my analysis of anything moot where your superior knowledge should be regarded as truth without question.

As the Kurgan said in "Highlander", "Forgive me. I am but a worm".
