Represented the best of college football. The Tide showed they belonged in the final four.
Now go Horns!

Michigan’s D-line impressed me tonight. And yes, Bama’s center looked he was rolling a kickball.

I forced myself to watch the game live. It is almost unwatchable with all the timeouts..

“But Bowl games are a joke now...”

No kidding. I grew up in the era of the few big bowl games - Rose, Orange, Cotton, and Sugar. There were also the Sun, Gator, Citrus, and Liberty, but they didn’t get a lot of attention.

I really miss the era of regional conferences with teams in your geographic region.

Yes, it is always disappointing when the scholar athletes from a great bastion of academic integrity like Alabama gets edged out.

I used to care about college football. Now it’s all a question of whose NIL slush fund is biggest and who wins in the portal trenches.

It is time to walk away.

I didn’t follow the Michigan disciplinary kerfuffle in any detail. I gather it had something to do with signal stealing. Of all the athletic offenses, I have to confess that I find signal stealing of zero concern. This has nothing to do with Michigan and the current hoo-haw; it goes way back to people wetting their britches about baseball. As far as I’m concerned, if you are not clever enough to camouflage your signals, you deserve to have them read, and congratulations to the opponent who is smart enough to crack your code. Who does this upset? The bookies and bettors? Probably, and that’s probably where the angst is coming from, which means that the NCAA, which whores over everything that should be of no interest to it, will jump through hoops to protect the gambling interests. Give me the days when quarterbacks called their own plays on the field, with limited substitutions so that coaches couldn’t shuttle plays in on every snap.

College overtime cheapens the struggle that has preceded it.

Then how do you determine who goes to the championship game? Rock, paper scissors?

... and 1990, when the Trojans beat the Wolverines in Bo Schembechler’s last Rose Bowl appearance.

In that one the refs robbed Michigan.

Texas v Washington is already looking to be a good matchup.
I went to Tuscaloosa to see Alabama v Texas. Great stadium, but Texas had their number that day.
The one thing I'm won't miss is watching the Playoffs on ESPN next year.
The 12 game playoff is going to be awesome.😉

Within a war you need a little time to rest and enjoy things.

Indeed. With everything else, life goes on.

That's what the Alabama fans were saying.

Bama hadn't faced a D as good as Michigan, and if not for the uncharacteristic flubs by their special teams, UM wins going away. IF Washington wins tonight, it will be the same thing.
