AI can’t do my job.
Not gonna say what it is either.
I’ve asked before as same job apocalypse was predicted with the proliferation of the computer chip.
Have computers created or taken away jobs in total?
They can have it.
If these AI-powered Chat engines you get routed to for problem on Amazon and WM or most any other service site are an indication of progress, I don’t want it.
Largely just fill-in conversational jabber about how they’ll ‘help’ you and in the end you get transferred to a humnan. The jibber jabber is incessant.
Oh boy. Another instance where the Fallout universe has preceded reality...
Jobs before bots!
I think some people still naively assume that AI is simply another tool that will be able to be utilised to create jobs like previous labour saving machinery. This may be true in the short term but in the longer term, the AI is going to be able to use every other tool and much more efficiently. They are already integrating AI into robotic bodies that are able to analyse and manipulate their environments like humans, and eventually it is going to reach the point they will be able to do any job a person has, but exponentially better. Remains to be seen what the billionaire class will do when they see they jo longer have a use for millions of obsolete meatbag workers.
“Hell of a day, isn’t it!!”
“Robo-cars will save thousands of lives.”
From what? Actually living?
What happens when the AI demands paid time off for pregnancy to self replicate itself? Will it start making other demands and threaten to strike if we don’t provide everything it needs to make replicas of itself.
AI will not be able to make ‘judgment” calls in many jobs.
AI will not be able to make ‘judgment” calls in many jobs.
Not any time soon. AI right now is nothing more than search and repeat. There aren’t a lot of jobs it can do.
