Tesla plans new world’s largest Supercharger with an impressive 200 stalls [guess where]

Tesla has unveiled plans for a new world’s largest Supercharger station, with an impressive 200 stalls in Yeehaw Junction, Florida.

It was just over a month ago that we learned that Tesla planned a new world’s largest Supercharger station – a new 164-stall station in California.

Now, Tesla is already planning to beat that and by a significant margin.

Tesla has now filed for a new mega Supercharger station in Florida with an astonishing 200 stalls:

Yeehaw Junction is located along 3 highways connecting south and central Florida as well as the coast. It makes the site strategically located for a charging station and Tesla is investing big on it.

Currently, the location only has a truck stop with a Dunkin and Subway. It will be interesting to see if the massive Supercharger station will help bring more amenities to the location or if Tesla deploys its own, which it has been doing at a few bigger locations lately.

Electrek’s Take This is beautiful to see. The infrastructure is obviously a big part of the solution to accelerate EV adoption and Tesla has been on top of the problem for a while.

There have been concerns as Tesla opens up the Supercharger network to all other EVs, which will put a lot more stress on the network, but it is nice to see Tesla investing in much bigger charging stations in anticipation of the increased usage.

Tesla is also planning to add pull-through stalls at its new stations, 8 stalls in this case, to support vehicles with trailers as EVs become bigger and more capable of towing.

All good stuff.

Tesla doesn’t realize the competition building charging stations:
“Congress at the urging of the Biden administration agreed in 2021 to spend $7.5 billion to build tens of thousands of electric vehicle chargers across the country, aiming to appease anxious drivers while tackling climate change.

Two years later, the program has yet to install a single charger.”

I couldn’t imagine the monthly demand charge for a 200-stall charging station on their monthly power bill.

“Why is the power out?”

Because the station down the street is busy tonight.

Has anyone wondered how this is going to affect the communist/socialist “peak hours” billing situation for customers? Are these stations going to affect rates for the whole area which normally should not? Why should everyone pay a higher rate because one of these stations happens to be in their area? Would the electric companies take advantage of the situation to gouge all customers universally?

Bet on it...

Californicatia doesn’t deserve ANY charging station...but I just had a Great idea! liberal hate buc-ee’s because it has EVERYTHING, along with some great videos so my suggestion is to only put charging stations at a buc-ee’s location. since it takes time to charge and the drivers will be looking for distractions while waiting, let them get some “southern exposure” on how the REAL world lives. might change a mind or two.

Not just “their” bill... Read #5. I would not want this in my area... Unwittingly folks in the area are about to get hammered just because it is located next to them.

As early as 1889, the Desert Inn was a bar room and brothel for cowboys and lumber workers. The Desert Inn did not have full-service water and electricity until 1978. Throughout the years, the Desert Inn was used as a trading post, gas station, and dance hall.

Yeehaw Junction has a seedy past... Musk could name it Desert Station' or 'Wolf Pack Station' keeping with our history.

I say put plug-ins at the solar farms and on each wind turbine.

EVs can just stop in there and charge. Saves construction and infra structure and the middle man.

They are going to need another Coal fired plant for that, or will it be electricity provided by air?

Maybe Tesla should team up with Bucee’s.

BTW, Florida seems like a good fit. During a recent trip to Orlando I saw Tesla Model 3’s all over the place.

Yeehaw Junction, Florida - Ha, I just drove passed YJ on way back home from Orlando. I hope they widen the road in that 1 stop light town.
