Lord Jesus, Bring Billy home to his mother's loving arms. Keep your hedge of protection around him and his family. Cause his father to reconsider his actions and return. I ask all these things in Jesus' precious holy name, AMEN.

Update on the foster child I mentioned earlier. The news is not good. All of the siblings except one have been taken by a local family. The foster child in question is a 6 year-old girl. The child who was not placed is her 8 year-old sister. She was not placed (we believe) because she was molested by the oldest brother (and father and grandfather according to her counselor). We fear for the 6 year-old of course. This is not carved in stone. We are piecing this together from various sources.

Our other concern is the family. Although they are Christian, the father does not provide constant leadership because he travels quite a lot. The mother is childless and now has 4 special-needs kids to handle. Our fear is an Andre Yates type situation. The father insisted the children arrive on the same day the family moved to a new home. If you have ever moved, you know the chaos that ensues. The foster child has suddenly gone from a nice home to a bed and a box.

The child's counselor told us that she has returned to being "feral" which was the state of the kids when they were removed from their home. She had progressed so much over the last year and we are heartbroken that she lost all that time. Of course, the State is involved so reasoning and logic are a stranger to all this. Our prayer is that she would be adopted as a single but the State says that is out of the question although they can't explain the 8 year-old missing from the equation.

So our prayer is that the father would feel led to assume his role as the leader of the family and spend the necessary time with the family. We pray the mother will get help from her family and neighbors because she will need it. The 6 year-old is the only one who does not have profound special needs (ADHD, possible Willie M with one child).

Heavenly Father, please place Your loving arms around each of these children and provide for them the environments they need to heal and flourish. Cause the father to spend much needed time with each child and to seize control of the situation. Grant wisdom and patience to this mother and father who have taken on such an enormous task. Bless each person, especially the 8 year-old child, and surround them with Your angels for protection and guidance. In Jesus' name I ask these things...Amen!
