NATURAL blondes are an endangered species and will be extinct by 2202, say scientists.

There are too few people carrying the blonde gene for the hair colour to continue down the generations.

So women and men with blonde hair, blonde eyebrows and blue eyes will vanish from the face of the earth within 200 years, says the World Health Organisation.

Researchers predict the last blonde will live in FINLAND which has the highest number of true blondes in the world.

The problem is that blonde hair is caused by a recessive gene.

A child has to have the gene on both sides of the family in the grandparents’ generation to get blonde hair.

But blonde genes are rapidly becoming watered down.

A spokesman for the WHO research team said: “It looks like their days are numbered.”

And bottle blondes like singer Kylie Minogue and surgically- enhanced model Jordan may even be responsible for the demise of their natural rivals.

The WHO spokesman added: “Artificial blondes tend to be blonder and possibly more attractive to men.

“This could mean more and more men are selecting them as partners over their naturally blonde peers.”

The number of bottle blondes is likely to soar.

A German study has found fair-haired waitresses or barmaids earn 20 per cent more in tips than others.

I'm assuming that this is a joke (look at the source.) The percentage of blonde (or blond for that matter) genes will tend to stay constant. Recessive genes are neither more nor less likely to die out than dominant genes. It's a Hardy-Weinberg thing.

How can recessive genes die out? They're always there, and ever so often two of them get together in the same person. That's how two brown-eyed parents can have a blue-eyed child, for example. So how can blondes become extinct?

I am a natural blonde, my grandmother and greatgrandmother were natural blondes, actually both of my grandmothers were probably blonde. All of my three children were blonde as young kids, though not as blonde as I. It doesn't appear to be dying out with my family.

Well, I've read that blondes are naturally more likely to die out just from making poor decisions.

Like the blonde who had always wanted to take horseback riding lessons and showed up for her first session all decked out in her western duds. She timidly climbed onto the horse's back and was horrified when the horse immediately took off at a fast pace. She felt her manicured hands slipping from the reins and grabbed for the horse's mane. Her boots fell from the stirrups and she felt her body shifting to one side with every wild stride of the galloping horse. Not always. If possessors of recessive genes breed less or produce less living offspring than those possessors of dominant genes then they don't get inherited at the same rate. It doesn't matter to me if some hair colors disappear though, it seems like blonde hair was just some genetic mutation that happened in Europe.

Exactly. Kid in my neighborhood has two 'black' parents, each of whom had a blond haired blue eyed grandparent. Guess what, one of their kids is black, with blond hair and blue eyes. Quite striking I might add. Now, if she marries a blond haired man and has kids...they'll all have blond hair. They won't be 'white' blonds but they'll be blond.
