1. Who is likely to be the permamnent successor to Law?
2. Who has the requisite orthodoxy and skill?
3. Who would you like to see in the job, likelihood, orthodoxy and skill notwithstanding?
Yeah right. That's the trouble with the Catholic chruch, too many Cahtolics. No diversity. Maybe they can get a Southern Baptist or even a Muslim to give them a fresh view of things. After all, they kind have had the same orientation for, like, 2,000 years.
Ma positione widda Holy Fada isa multo importanta and besidesa I hata alla dosa scrod jokes.

You'll also be pretty sure he isn't very holy. Holiness is what is the most important.
Pee Wee Herman.
One of Massachussets' finest sons. A man who has the experience to immediately get behind this position and give it all he has. Ladies and gentlemen I give you Cardinal Barney Frank.
But I do know that there are none that have held high level positions in the USSCB,as a bishop or a syncophant in their bureaucracy, or the Liturgy and Worship committee or ICEL prior to 2000 that should be named to replace Law.Who,BTW and IMO was not at all a conservative.
I wonder how close his relationship(I hear he was a Harvard graduate)was to Larry Summers, present President of Harvard or Yale. Summers just recently apologised on behalf of the University, for the administration in 1920,who had the audacity to expel a little cadre of public homosexuals. See any dots to connect?
I think the sickness in the Boston diocese far predates the immigration of the Irish,Italian and ethnic Catholics.Maybe the Church should start looking at some heretofore untapped resources. Maybe they could claim the source of the infestation was another group, less connected to the transcendent God.In addition to corrupting the innocent little Catholic boys, they probably took financial advantage of poor and somewhat desperate foreigners.
....you gonna geta youselfa inna biga troubla if you impersonata a mana ofa da clotha.
You say tena Ave Marias and senda me fifty dollahs (USa of A currencio, per favore)and I giva you a plenary indugencia.
A piu tardi,
Msgr. Guido
That's an interesting idea! But are Jesuits are allowed to administer dioceses? (Just asking, I don't know.)
D'Arcy is his name.
I'd love Bruskewitz cuz he'd make an "anathema" of the CTA, VOTF, WomenChurch, We Are Church and Corpus crowd. But then we'd have a very sparce Catholic Caucus here in the Archdiocese of Boston...
Seriously, like all of us here, I pray for a strong, orthodox man who is inspired by the Holy Spirit.
First, the guilty must go.
Second, the Chancery staff need to all be sent on to other jobs and some need to be fired. A new Cardinal Archbishop of Boston needs an entirely new team in order to restore faith. However, I believe Donna Morrisey should stay for a while because she has had one of the most horrible jobs in the Church and she has tried to do her level best in midst of an impossible situation.
Third, Mary Ann Glendon needs to be appointed by the Holy Father as a Lay Cardinal and given faculties and real, temporal power and authority over all litigation relating to the sex abuse scandals in the United States of America subsuming all diocesan chanceries and religious houses under her perview in this area. (Oh, I can hear the coughing alread....)
Fourth, Bishop Lennon needs to be raised to an appointment at the Vatican as of December 16, 2002........
Fifth, an interim administrator needs to be appointed, and that administrator could be a sitting bishop or archbishop from Nigeria, Uganda, or Venezuela; or, in my perfect world, the interim administrator of the archdiocese would be Mother Mary Agnes Donovan, S.V., the Mother Superior of the Sisters of Life, who would cause all those on the Left Hand of Darkness to "freak out" and tremble with teeth-chattering fear.
Finally, Archbishop Chaput of Denver is the best one for the Archbishopric of Boston.
