South Park- war protesters episode
4-9-03 | FerretFawcet

Did anyone see tonight's new "South Park" about the war protesters?

I have been a fan of the show for years but I thought this was the LAMEST EPISODE EVER! They concluded that America is hypocritical becuse we SAY that we like going to war but we ACT like we don't- we "have our cake and eat it too".

Your thoughts?

What channel? I used to love that show, but I don't think I get that channel anymore.

I disagree, I took it completely differently. I thought the comment (something like) "If everyone was a wuss like you guys, we'd be completely taken over within one day" was meant to trump the "you guys show that we don't like war" side.

Norman Lear's name was in the credits as a writer...

It was very well done. But the absurdity might not be caught by some.

I couldn't stay up late enough and I tried.

I wouldn't say your interpretation of it's message, if accurate, is that far off of the truth though! It is OK to laugh at ourselves, and we are pretty spoiled.

I think they were basically holding true to what we believe here on FR. We had a duty to go to war, but those who disagreed with it had a right to protest. I just wish they were a little harder on the protesters and maybe dealt with the whole obstruction of traffic/distracting LFO from tracking terrorists angle. I do, however, think that this season has pretty much stunk. The only highlight thus far has been the Jimmy/Timmy episode and even that could have been funnier.

I also didn't like how they characterized "rock n' roll" as the liberal music form. Sure, you've got sissy alt. rock bands speaking out against the war, but in the DC/B'More punk scene, which I am a part of, most of us have spoken out about supporting our troops and rallying for the just cause. Sure, the younger kids are still running their mouths about stuff they don't know enough about, but most of us older folks tell it like it is. And yes, I'm old for this kind of scene (in case you read my profile).

The show "with" Christopher Reeves was hilarious.

I love South Park. Just started watching it this year. When I get bored at the office I watch South Park on the big screen I have.

"If everyone was a wuss like you guys, we'd be completely taken over within one day" I was LMAO when I heard that one! I thought the show was pretty funny.
