The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Good morning, 2J! Any more eggs this morning? Is there a time of day when they usually lay eggs? And it's not EVERY day, is it?

Thanks mrsnad! I feel much better today. I went to bed right after that prayer request post and woke up pretty refreshed. So the prayers helped!
After we got to Braums I was fine...I just couldn't hardly hear a thing in Landrys...just too much sound to process!
That's how my whole cub scout weekend was...very "loud" to me! My good ear wasjust fried when I got home! LOL I went and sat out in the yard with the chickens and just SAT!
My older chickens are right at 20 weeks old this week. I had the date marked on the calendar! The buff orpies are 16 weeks. But Roy is the only one doing the squatting business and then she started making "practice runs" to the nest box...it was the next day that she started to lay.
I'm going out in a sec to see if there is another one...

Thank you! I think I probably just need to avoid crowds! Except if I get to come to Entmoot...but then everyone there hopefully won't think I'm a nut when I bellow "WHAT???" over the racket!
Well, not any more of a nut.
LOL

To: RosieCotton
Well, Roy laid 2 over the last two days...but there isn't one out there right now...
I have the window open and I'm listening for any squawking...supposedly they cluck really loud after they lay...

Is it a chicken industry? Like Tyson or Pilgrim's Pride?
I found an article where the guy feeds them marigold extract...

Yes. It's a brand of chicken, like Tyson.

Thanks. It is an awesome story. One which I need to read again. ;-)
Perhaps PJ does this on purpose. But it seems to me that he's indicating that both Saruman and Gandalf know what will happen in Moria. Not that there's just some sense of dread.

Except if I get to come to Entmoot...but then everyone there hopefully won't think I'm a nut when I bellow "WHAT???" over the racket! Heh...I may be yellin' with ya. I'm not so sure my own hearing isn't fading some. Either that or my family is mumbling on purpose to drive me crazy. And 'course if I don't have my glasses on, I won't be able to see anything either.
I got a chuckle in church yesterday when I looked up at the three pastors on the platform.
One with an artificial hip, one with two artificial knees, one with an artificial leg...

Either that or my family is mumbling on purpose to drive me crazy.Steve does this! Mumbles...and not only that...he mumbles and then looks away from me (to point at something or other) and then I can't even read his lips or watch his facial expression! ARGH!
That usually makes me pretty upset...

Good morning!
I'm back to the cleaning of Myranda's room. Stopping for a tea break.
2J and Corin - First I'm going to say that I don't believe this for a minute - but Myranda and a couple of my friends have started accusing me of having Harley hearing. It just seems like people aren't polite and mumble more than they used to. Go figure.
G'nad, thanks for the information about "the rear." I wasn't sure if they were getting out of Baghdad or maybe back to Germany. And I don't like the idea of bombarding Tom with questions like that.

Good morning Sis!
I was talking to Steve last night and wondered if my right ear used to be my dominant ear and now that it's gone, my left ear just can't keep up...
I know that when you loose the use of a dominant hand, supposedly your non-dominant hand become dominant...so I wonder if this is true with ears as well?
