The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Remind me not to order a "Nutty Buddy" in your neighborhood...

But I don't want to be the curmudgeon. I want to be the charming, good-looking one with the razor-sharp wit!Wow... you know, that's pretty much exactly what I want to be remembered as. But also rich.

On the 11 o'clock late night movie: The Ice Cream Man.
He lost his mind, and now he's coming for you.
41 flavors to choose from, but the end result is always the same.
He is, the ice cream assassin.

LOL! Welcome to the Hobbit Hole Holly P!
To: JenB
I'd like to be remembered as a lovable nut.
More than likely I'll be remembered as a short dark man with a napoleon complex... and odd short stories.
*chuckle*
"Face it Napoleon, you're just a short little man with an attitude!"

Holly, meet Corin, he's the charming, good-looking one with the razor-sharp wit!
To: Graybeard58
Great Graybeard, I just didn't want to miss anything vital you might have posted...
We usually kept those webpages much more up to date, but lately I have been distracting the webmaster with adventures and forestry!
To: Darksheare
Hmmm... ever read the "Miles Vorkosigan" novels by Lois McMaster Bujold?

Well, he's a short little man with an attitude... and a personal fleet of space mercenaries. I like 'em.

Well, I'm back and making great strides on not being a humbug this year. The tree is up and decorated. It looks quite sharp if I do say so myself- even if it is still the little tree from the condo. We didn't get around to getting a "big-***" tree like we planned, I missed the after Christmas sale on them last year and that's the only way I'll buy one.
Lights aren't up yet on the exterior, tho the garland is swaging and lovely. My pretty wreath is up on the door. I'll get pics as soon as everything is picture perfect. Currier and Ives- here I come!
Did some baking, some homemaking, and lots of laundry. I've got a recipe for pumpin cookies that I'll share as soon as I relocate the piece of paper on which it is written.
I even burned the midnight oil sketching out a new story idea. Unfortunately, and bizzarely, the last 8 of the 12 pages I wrote didn't get saved. Grrr. 'Been grumbling all day about that.
Have tomorrow off and must make a Walmart run. The stratergy is to attack before dawn... and try not to get trampled.
To: Lil'freeper
Oh, it's so annoying when you lose part of a story!
I'm in the last phase of planning for my next epic. Just have to finish working out the sociopolitical situation...

Interesting - You replied to me and in the very next post you replied to graybeard58 - he's my Gramps.
We made a deal that we would stay out of each others hair.I started reading the posts about the ice cream and remembered the humorous cartoon I had, I didn't even realize he was here.
For a really funny picture click on graybeard58, I am the funny looking girl on the right side of the pic (It's about a year old.)
Somebody should talk to him about giving me my first amendment rights back when I am at his house.
What's really funny though is that when I use his computer to access F.R. I don't log out when I am done. Cable connection is always on and he will sit at the comp and just start replying to posts in MY name. He gets aggravated at me but I tell him if he wasn't senile he could just look up at the top of the page and see who was logged in. He doesn't see it that way though. What a grump!
To: Corin Stormhands
go VEY early Oh yes. And I'll be employing my guerrilla shopping techniques (which I've perfected at the PX and commissary). Wherein I park the cart in key locations and conduct precision raiding missions- I strike fast and withdraw... and move the cart under cover of confusion. *cue Chariots of Fire music*
I also make good use of psy-ops... I invade body space of stupid, indecisive people who stand for hours in front of the items on my list. (Usually junior officer's wives who can't decide between fish sticks or fish fillets at the commissary.) Muahahahaaa.
To: Holly_P
Hey... you're younger than I am, I believe. In which case you've got to stick around here.

He doesn't see it that way though. What a grump!Indeed! Reminds me of another greybeard we know... Is your Grandpa a wizard? "Do not meddle in the affairs of Wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger. "

Is your Grandpa a wizard Nah, he's just a regular old grump. He's a sweetheart though.
