Without taking any side in this ugliness, I feel I should rise in BadJoe's defense. Nobody -- Jim Robinson included -- worked harder to make FR a success. Joe was tireless in his handling of the site's finances and fundraisers, and a cheerful, inspiring worker when the time came to roll up your sleeves.

That said, I was around when BadJoe imploded, and the blight spread quickly. A number of his charges are correct: this site does NOT inspire the level of debate it once did. The moderators DO get heavy-handed at times (although I see litte of that any more). And certain trusts were betrayed -- on both sides -- when the going got tough.

This is a volunteer effort, and volunteers burn out. I think the inner circle of FR just burned out. Clarity is gone. CaL is gone. Mike Gallutia is gone. Scotty is gone. Most of the people that formed the core of FR when I first started are no longer here or have curtailed their activities.

I'm sorry this kind of stuff has to happen, but it would be naive to think it wouldn't.

As one cadre fades away, new people move in to take their place. It's an endless cycle, and not without its painful aspects, but it's an inherent part of any living entity.

In the end, FR goes on. And on. And on. The Energizer bunny's got nothing on this web site.

Well, I don't know what to say. Connie left and called me all kinds of names on the way out and accused me of being unprincipled, dishonest and in over my head and all sorts of similar things. Brian left and basically did the same thing. Navigator, Mojo & Co, left and spent years bashing Jim and FR. Lucianne called me a "mean shit." Drudge pulled his link to FR because we're so bad. And hundreds of trolls and assorted bannees have said the same thing. The Washington Post, the LATimes, the City of Fresno Human Relations Commission, Peace Fresno, and liberals and anarchists the world over have attacked me and called me all kinds of names and accused me of all sorts of ugly things. Now Joe. Guess it must all be true. LOL

Ain't that a bummer that "YOU" are allways right and everyone else around you is wrong?

Just a short comment about what has been disclosed. For the things that are fact, for the things that are exagerated, for the things that are wished for and for the lies--- I am not sure where they may properly fit.

I do know and can speak with certainty that you are an outstanding patriot, a man with intergrity and honesty and a very intelligent individual. I can speak from a personal experience in circumstances that others have not had the priveledge to experience.

How you choose to operate this forum is how you choose to run it - period. We all have choices, and it is obvious how most of us have chosen.

If BadJoe were even approaching the quality of the individual that he is trying to attack, there would not have been an attack, everything would have been resolved.

My hat is off to you Mr. Robinson for what you and your family have provided for us.
