While former South African President Nelson Mandela, 85, scoffs at rumors of ill health, plans are being made by the nation's Communist Party to slaughter all whites in the country upon his death, G2B sources say.

One of the operations planned entails 70,000 armed black men "being transported to the Johannesburg city center within an hour" in taxicabs to attack whites.

The plans are variously dubbed "Operation Vula," "Night of the Long Knives," "Operation White Clean-up," "Operation Iron Eagle" and "Red October campaign."

Operation "Our Rainy Day" was to be carried out after the death of Nelson Mandela and would have entailed blacks being transported to the largest cities in taxis.

The assailants were expected to "take over" fuel points and massacre whites. The attacks would lead to a coup.

Sources say most blacks in the country are aware of the plans. When racial disputes occur, blacks often tell whites, "Wait until Mandela dies.”

"White people in South Africa can deny it to the end of the earth, but we are in real danger," one resident said. "This is no joke and any person with half a brain can see that this rumor has spiraled out of control."

Many whites are now convinced a vicious campaign of ethnic cleansing will follow Mandela's death whenever it comes. Some are making preparations for retreats.

"I have prepared myself and we have a gathering place where we can fortify for four weeks after Mandela’s death," said one white South African. "If nothing happens it will be a miracle."

The Red October campaign is allegedly a Communist plot to oust President Thabo Mbeki. Mbeki would be replaced by Cyril Ramaphosa.

"I was starting to think I was going nuts!" said another white South Africa resident. "'Operation Uhuru' or 'Operation White Clean-up' is definitely no rumor. I spoke to someone who told me that some blacks in Zimbabwe have also confirmed that this 'event' will take place. My cousin stays on a farm in Mpumalanga, not too far from Johannesburg. A black police officer in that district told his white colleague that they are going to kill us like flies, and there is nothing we can do about it. And that they also don't care if we know."

Meanwhile, Mandela, obviously aware of the growing rumors, last week assured the public he is well.

"My health is all right," he told reporters in Cape Town. "I'm doing very well. Others have gone further and said I am on the eve of going to my grave. If that day comes, I will go and knock at the door of heaven. ... They will look at the list and say: 'Your name is not here ... can you try next door?'"

Concern about Mandela's health surfaced last month when he canceled a scheduled meeting with visiting German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder. The former president was at the time relaxing on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius.

Mandela joked that when his time comes, "I will look for a branch of the ANC (the ruling African National Congress) in that world (and) I'll join it."

There are places likes Orania which people thought were a front for the boeremag. Turned out to be untrue and as far as my ex says, they're pretty much left alone. Then there is Calvinia which is a bit more open to the world but the signs are still in afrikaans.

You are right about those two places. Orania is an old town bought out by Carel Boshoff and his group, Avstig (Afrikaner Freedom Foundation). It's a small town in the North Cape province with no large shops, a small hospital, library etc. The town is in private ownership, right of admission is reserved.. Not many whites are prepared to give up suburbia for that. The whole "Boeremag", AWB and any sort of large-scale white resistance pretty much disappeared with the scaling down of wartalk from General Constand Viljoen. There is still a lot of Afrikaans around SA, but that is slowly changing. The whole of the Limpopo province changed the names of towns, even those that were not named after Afikaners.

Let me know if I'm talking too much....

Orania reminds me of a commune. I first heard about it when they had a contest for the best koeksister. Now they have small boarding types houses for tourists. It's good because the foreign press gave them such a bad name way back. I still would like to visit there, very quiet and one doesn't have to seep behind a ten foot gate.

No way you aren't talking too much!

Yes, Orania is very much a community in the true sense. There was never anything sinister about Orania, it's just that it's like a club for people willing to commit to the lifestyle and shared values. They have some great plans, and contrary to early popular opinion, the town continues to make a good existence. I wonder how long the government will leave them alone.

What a coincidence... from the Sunday Times. Reading it I'm reminded of kibbutzim in Israel, or settler property on the West Bank.

It is easy to drive past "whites-only" Orania without even noticing the forsaken little town is there, but once you get to know its strange mixture of residents, it becomes impossible to forget the curious place.

This is the heartland of the Afrikaner, or so the company which owns the town claims.

But 10 years after South Africa's first black government made room in the new constitution for the concept of a "Volkstaat" (people's state), the dream of an independent homeland for the Afrikaner is fading.

"If South Africa stays peaceful, if no conflict breaks out, then I do not think I will see the realisation of a Volkstaat in my lifetime," says Carel Boshoff, 76, founder of Orania and son-in-law of late prime minister Hendrik Verwoerd, the architect of apartheid.

Orania is a small speck on the map in the scrubland Karoo region, situated on the dusty banks of the half-empty Orange River in Northern Cape province. It is surrounded by a rocky landscape dotted with creaky windmills and the occasional green of cultivation.

From one of the hilltops, an impressive statue of Verwoerd towers over the eerily quiet town, lined with flags of the old Boer Transvaal Republic.

A group of 40 Afrikaner families, headed by Boshoff, his wife Anna and three of their adult children, bought the dilapidated town for about 200,000 dollars in December 1990, a few months after apartheid laws had been scrapped and Nelson Mandela released from jail.

Today it has been fixed up and between 500 and 600 white Afrikaners, including around 100 children, live in Orania under the slogan of "selfwerksaamheid" (self-reliance).

Black or coloured (mixed-race) people are not allowed to live or work here, their presence would be deemed to go against the principle of self-reliance.

This means poor whites are employed as cleaners, gardeners and farm workers while an elite circle of "intellectuals" discuss the preservation of the Afrikaner culture.

Prinsloo Potgieter, chairman of the Vluyteskraal Aandeleblok (Whistling Shareholders) company that owns Orania, explains the ideology with passion: "We do not want to be managed by people who are not Afrikaners. Our culture is being oppressed and our children are being brainwashed to speak English," the 60-something "mayor" says with a serious look in his pale-blue eyes.

The Afrikaner "intellectuals" are all quick to disown apartheid, however.

But, says the charismatic Boshoff, a professor of theology: "Afrikaners who live in the rest of South Africa must know they are doing it at their own risk. They should realise their cultural heritage is under serious threat."

But while the highly educated Boshoff family contemplate the fate of the Afrikaner, a large number of working class whites are moving into rickety matchbox houses in downtown "Kleingeluk" (small happiness), a neighbourhood its residents say is for "armgatte" (poor bums).

"Do you want to know the truth about Orania? It is not about Afrikaans. Fuck Afrikaans. The people in 'Grootdorp' (the upmarket neighbourhood) are living a pipe-dream," says Fanie Botha, 38, who arrived eight months ago to do "a black man's work" on a farm.

"This place is about old people running away from the blacks, and young people desperate to get jobs," says the tanned, dark-haired man wearing khaki shorts and a gold chain around his neck.

Botha says the only advantage is low crime levels, explaining that "The Company" usually deals with law-breakers by issuing fines.

Madelein de Beer, carrying a toddler on each hip, moved to Orania when she was 10.

Today the chubby and chatty blonde is 23, married to Orania's street sweeper, living with their three children in a derelict house made out of particle board. She likes it here because it is safe.

Mara Coetsee is a frail but gutsy 75-year-old woman, by her own admission used to "the easy life", who came to farm with her husband in "crime-free" Orania after they lost all their pension money.

"I told my husband I would become the first woman to walk out of here. The people here are strange," she said.

She complained that they were not allowed to bring in black workers to build a house.

But a visiting black photograper was welcomed and treated decently, barring one person who refused to speak to him without permission from "The Company".

Its chairman, Potgieter, had just one request for the photographer: "I want you to learn and remember two words. 'Volkstaat' and 'Afrikaner'."

A tragic history in South Africa and we can probably see this coming a mile away.

9 years later, Nelson Mandela is still alive and South Africa remains fracked up!

If you are not white, it's not racism.

Correct.
According to the liberals, you can only be a racist if you are a member of a superior race.
Mull that over.

Mandela rambled a lot in his answers, but I note he didn't deny any of the ugly rumors.

Yeah, it was funny - - he tried to reassure whites by announcing that he's healthy... for now.
