Event Will 'Emancipate' Abe Lincon From the Closet

A homosexual advocacy group is planning to hold a discussion on 'gay icons' in US history'--including President Abe Lincoln--at part of its national celebration at Philadelphia's Independence Hall later this spring.

Equality Forum is organizing a 'national celebration' to mark the 40th anniversary of the 'gay civil rights movement' which it says began with a small demonstration at Independence Hall years before the Stonewall riots in New York City.

The panelists include a 'recognized expert' on Eleanor Roosevelt, and the editor of CA Tripp's new book 'The Initmate Life of Abraham Lincoln' in a panel discusson of 'closeted public leaders.'

'Governor McGreavey showed mainsream Americans that homophobia has kept those who seek elected office in the closet,' said Malcom Lazin, executive director of Equality Forum.

'These public officials include Abraham Lincoln, who saved the nation, emancipated the slaves and founded the modern Republican Party.

Lazin said he has read 'The Intimate Life of Abraham Linclon'. 'As a gay man and an amateur historian, I find the evidence indisputable that the 16th President of the United States, Abe Lincoln, was a gay man.

'Anyone not blinded by homophobia will recognize that the president who preserved our republic was gay. It is time that US historical figures be emancipated from the closet.'

So now we are homophobes if conservative historians disagree with their take?

Leave the poor man to rest in peace. He's not alive to confirm or deny. To quote Mrs. Cheney, these just aren't decent people.

All they are trying to do is rewrite history for political purposes.
They are demented and will stop at nothing to justify their agenda.

The game is to declare every famous or revered person gay, so then that will make their aberrant behavior OK.

This sickens me. These are people with no self control. One does not have to act on every thought that goes through ones head.

And they will continue to show us how all these great people were homosexuals. Of course we should all be proud that some many of our national heroes were homosexuals. In fact, we should have a national holiday - National Homosexual Heroes Day!

They do the same to so many other figures in history. It makes me ill.

I don't quite understand why their urge for validation is so strong that they have to force homosexuality on people that probably did not have such inclinations. Next thing you know, they'll start telling LIVING people that they're gay.

They're only trying to out him because he's dead.

I remember when the movie "A Beautiful Mind" about John Nash came out.

Political radical Gay and Lesbian groups criticized the movie for failing to mention that John Nash was gay.

When John Nash heard this, he was furious and immediately issued a statement that he is not nor never was gay.

Instead of apologizing, spokespeople for these groups simply responded, "We thought John Nash was dead"

I guess they don't want to make the same mistake again.

'Anyone not blinded by homophobia will recognize that the president who preserved our republic was gay.'

How can anyone disagree with such a reasonable statement? (/sarcasm)

Yes, I'd like to know exactly what in the book somehow proves (but only to this 1 person out of the thousands who have studied, read, and written about Lincoln) that Lincoln was gay. What a blantant and desperate attempt at validation!
