I blame the parents. Divorce after the kids get into college. Excelling in morality and ethics is the exception not the rule for kids of broken families. She was hurting inside and acted out in Aruba. All accounts indicate she was behaving very recklessly there.

You don't know what the hell you are talking about. I know this family and Natalee isn't anything like what you just posted. If your child ever goes missing anywhere I bet you will do ANYTHING you can to get someone to help you, ANYTHING!

I think you're offbase and it has almost nothing to do with this situation. Accounts suggest she was smitten with Van Der Sloot and just threw caution to the wind (maybe the only time in her life).

I never understood the emphasis on some commentators (and Freepers) on Natalee's academics, pre-med aspirations, scholarships, whatever. It's not like women with high IQs don't meet guys they like and fall out of their underwear from time to time.

Is it really that incredible to believe she paired off with a guy who she liked, really turned her on, and wanted to share some romantic time with? Of course not - anybody suggesting otherwise is hopelessly naive.

Your statement is off the wall!! The Dutch and Surinamese PERPETRATORS said that Natalee was acting badly. NOBODY else ever stated that she misbehaved. !! State the facts.

"I blame the parents."

Most liberals do, too.

But I blame the villains who harmed the girl.

You don't have a clue. Anything else you would like to pronounce on about which you know nothing?

I agree that Natalie was acting recklessly, but I do not agree with your blaming the parents. Especially for blaming them because they divoced "after the kids get into college". Unless you are a close friend, or relative of the Holloway family, I highly doubt you are an expert on their personal relationships. :)

THe blame belongs to whoever hurt Natalie. Don't give those evil people a free ride for their actions. They are 100% responsible. They didn't have to hurt her. Do you even get what you are saying? They had a choice as we all do. Ever seen someone drunk? If so did it give you a right to hurt them or steal from them? Don'e give these murderers an inch. They already feel that they are above the law.

One other thing.....does everyone who has one young stupid drunken night come from broken homes? Or for that matter does one stupid drunken night make you ethically or morally bankrupt? Who do you think you are?
