I blame the parents. Divorce after the kids get into college. Excelling in morality and ethics is the exception not the rule for kids of broken families. She was hurting inside and acted out in Aruba. All accounts indicate she was behaving very recklessly there.

You don't know what the hell you are talking about. I know this family and Natalee isn't anything like what you just posted. If your child ever goes missing anywhere I bet you will do ANYTHING you can to get someone to help you, ANYTHING!

I don't agree with kinghorse, and I do support a boycott of Aruba for their obvious mishandling of this case. But 2 things bother me about Natalee's actions.

She was out ALONE late at night in a FOREIGN country. Not smart for anybody, & I suspect the chaperones & sponsors mentioned this danger more than once.

Also, she apparently befriended 3 young men who were strangers, & got in a car with them. Again, not smart.

Yet, this girl is supposedly smart, & at 18, she was probably quite street smart as well. Unless she was drunk and/or drugged, her actions do not make sense to me.

None of this excuses the Aruban police screwups.

thank you for that post....you expressed exactly what i was thinking....i'm sick of people saying natalie brought this on herself.....and i support gov riley's call for a boycott....these punks killed her and the govt of aruba could care less!
