President Bush yesterday said he opposes a civilian project to monitor illegal aliens crossing the border, characterizing them as "vigilantes." He said he would pressure Congress to further loosen immigration law.

Bush or Streisand? Either way, the answer is no. But since you posted this old article today, let me ask you, is it your position that nothing has changed since 03/05?
GW needs to get his head out of his rear and quit alienating his base. Otherwise, he is going to lose the House in 06. If that happens, he will face Articles of Impeachment from a Democratic House majority.

Yeah... the Sheeple are upset... how could I post a year old article... I must be one of the "enemy" lurking on FR. Sorry sheeps... I am wayyyy right of the Prez (who I voted for and support). But... I have a problem with our border situation. Is Bush gonna smooch Fox again? Doesn't that make you want to earp?

It's like he's really not in this particular space-time continuum. He just keeps parroting the same lines and it's not working for him.
What I find totally dishonest is a failure to discuss the extreme cost of incarceration, school for kids, and medical costs and the use of welfare by illegal aliens as part of the discussion about "guest workers who do the jobs American will not do." They COST this nation and its taxpayers more than any "help" they give us. One "worker" brings ten "nonworking" cousins and kids with him.
To discuss only one slice of this problem without taking into the discussion the other parts is a "spit in your face, kick you in the groin, you are so stupid I can pull wool over your eyes" attitiude.
This is an attitude that is killing the Republican name.
I'm not sure conservatives have ever been a homogeneous bunch. We definitely haven't figured out that the primaries are the place to pitch a fit, not the general election.
If you wanted to revisit the article you should have just replied to the already posted thread of a year ago.

Much has changed since 3/05... tens of thousands more lawbreakers, Mexican army in Texas two or three times, property owners land destroyed (mostly in Arizona I understand), more deaths, corruption of border guards taking bribes, about a third illegal immagrants are OTMs (other than Mexican), Arizona Gov (a 'RAT) taking lead by sending national guard to border... yeah alot has changed... all for the WORSE!
I'm starting to wonder if George is really the lesser of two evils. Giving away our benifits to illegals is a crime in itself; it is clearly immoral and illegal.
That vigilante comment was before the minutemen were real players. Back then I didn't even have a clue about them.

The house is not going to give a vote to the guest worker program.
Harry reid will filibuster the house bill on border security.
Reid and clinton are your enemies on this issue.
Where did you get that statement from the President. I was listening to his statements this morning at his meeting about the borders, and he said no such thing.
