Posted on 12/08/2006 5:04:27 PM PST by Weep-o-crat Hunter

You will probably want to know One or Two things about your Folk Hero:

- He is a Well-Known anti-Conservative

- He has Promoted Drugs in many songs, including his Hit "Everybody Must Get Stoned" (!!!)

- He Is no a Christian of birth. No, he is not! And alot of you would say, well, This Is Okay. I do too. But! he Perverted the Christian Faith for several Years.

- He has participated in Celebrating Unusual Lifestyles.

- He has had Children out of Wedlock.

- There are many songs which Celebrate the Flaunting or Ridiculing of Authority.

- He uses Metaphor and Analagy, sometimes mixing the two, which is Anti-Christian. We Belive in the Literal Truth in All Things.

- He has written songs that could be interpreted as Anti-Christian. This from a ______!!!

- He has many times spoken Against President Bush.

Now I know some of you listen to this devil of a folksinger, and I am willing to accept the excuse of Ignorance... but once! There is no such excuse now that I have posted these Facts.

Here's Weep-O-Crat's "origin" thread: For I Will Call Them Weep-O-Crats, posted on his sign-up date.

It was meant to introduce Free Republic to the Weep-O-Crat concept but only about five of us bothered to look at the post. Kind of like that anti-war guy who set himself on fire but no one noticed. Weird.

"Everybody Must Get Stoned"

There is no such song.
Perhaps you mean "Rainy Day Women 12 and 35"?

One cannot get much more looney lefty than Patti Smith, but I must acknowledge her genius as an artist.

So, what was your original point?

Dylan is simple to me...he's a great poet and a lousy politician.

You raise up your head
And you ask, "Is this where it is?"
And somebody points to you and says
"It's his"
And you say, "What's mine?"
And somebody else says, "Where what is?"
And you say, "Oh my God
Am I here all alone?"

Because something is happening here
But you don't know what it is
Do you, Mister Weep-o-crat Hunter?

This poster is pretending to be the straw man liberals despise. Or he's Phred Phelps maybe. Here is an excellent article from the Weekly Standard, "What Bob Dylan Is Not". The writer also has a blog called "right wing bob" which is very insightful and interesting.

Dylan's latest CD, Modern Times, is his first in five years, and enourmously popular. He has a new generation of listeners.

I'm surprised the poster didn't also attack Dylan for accepting an invitation to play for the Pope.
