Don’t ya just love those that argue there’s no evidence of Christian persecution going on right before their very eyes in this country?

It is already to the point where Christians can NOT work.
My son strongly suspects that he lost his job because he let it slip that he was a Christian. The other members of his office (not Christian) suddenly became hostile and uncooperative.
My son worked in one of the bluest counties in one of the bluest states.
So...If it is now to the point where people must hide that their Christian at work, when will we be hiding in catacombs?

As a long time Bay Area resident, I’ve known about the fair for a long time - never been, never plan to, a hetero male going into that fair is...just, no. Don’t do it.
But I’ve watched people get all excited about the prospect of open sexuality and nudity in public, for free...and return somewhat less than entertained, and more than a little disgusted.
Having been on teh fringe of such lifestyles, I’d say 90% of them are people who I don’t have any need to see naked - thus I do not go near that part of the city when the fair is on.
I would say its the elder ship who needs to be educated about these options preaching is a terribly hard thing to do and to as much a degree as possible the day to day operations of the church should be taken out of his hands.
I know there are small churches where thats not an option but as much as possible the job of organizing and training up the body to be self sufficient in manners outside of doctrine should be the job of the board/eldership..
A body of 5-6 home schooling families within a church is a wonderful seed and can greatly help each other and the congregation as a whole.

I think Rush use to talk about this early in his career. In the last several years I hear nothing but maybe veiled disagreement with homo-marriage. If you know specific instances where he came out forcefully against it, please let me know.

Churches coulds avoid nearly all the zoning, tax, employee management, withholding tax, etc, problems. And,,the lay boards could take over much of the minimal supervising needed. Ministers needed to educated about the non-brick and mortar options available.
However,,,there are too many pastors, who are soooo afraid of offending the government school employees in their pews, that they will never allow his church to be any kind of vehicle for private schooling. If this is the case, shame on them! They will answer to God.

Homosexuals hate Christians and their kids. And,,,homosexuals have tremendous power in every area of society.
I am reminded of the Jews in pre-WWII Germany. There were many, many signs of the coming persecution, but too many simply refused to believe it.

Thank you very much for opening my eyes and giving me new understanding of what is going on here.
Our church organization in its core area has many thriving schools of its own as an outreach tool. We also have our own teacher and pastor training schools...not too shabby for a group of only about 400,000...
I am afraid that we are almost past the tipping point.
With so many single moms dependent on the government, with so many people with government jobs, with so many fatherless children,with the demoralization of so many men regarding marriage, with so many people on welfare,,,I think it is now almost hopeless.
There is only **one** possible solution that I see.
If Marxists can have as their goal the indoctrination of children, then Conservatives ( Christian and non-Christian) must have the education of children as one of their primary goals.
Conservatives could do this by forming private scholarship foundations that would give private vouchers to private schools that upheld traditional Judeo Christian values. Welfare moms value a good education for their children and many would be attracted to these schools.
With enough children in the private system, a massive school tax revolt could be organized that would permanently shut down every government school in this nation!
I see this as our nation’s only hope.
It is either that or peacefully seceded, as Walter Williams has suggested.
I was just posting a reply to NELSON111 about my daughter’s American history teacher. Her school as a whole is not totally bad. As a matter of fact, at least up till today, her history teacher hasn’t even mentioned MLK and this is “Black History Month”.
The fact that she is the only one who “gets it” in her history class is what may be the telling factor here. I don’t know what the percentage of non-involved parents is, but I can say that the hallways are not really crowded on “Parent’s Night”.
As far as her school being different than the ones in California and the one that NELSON111 was talking about - I guess it is. At least her classes are. I see some PCness here and there, but not much, yet. I can also say that I know her teachers seldom teach from the text-book. I’m OK with that because she seldom is even allowed to take it home. I’ve wondered if that was a telling factor also.

I think somehow the whole concept of educational freedom needs to be brought before the Supreme Court in a lawsuit.
Private schools and homeschools struggle because of *finances*. I see shiny new school building after shiny new school building being built here in Northern VA, and my choices are these: (1) spend thousands a year on a private school, making us paupers (2) homeschool, which is fine, but I’ll also spend hundreds on curriculum and other materials, as well as being unable to work at all, even part-time.
The (1) option also involves seeing my kids’ teachers struggle with very low pay. I don’t know many Christian schools that pay a livable wage. Most of the administrators and teachers are there because they have kids in the school and thus are able to afford it for their own children.
The private secular school here doesn’t cost thousands, but tens of thousands.
I do enjoy the freedom and flexibility of school at home, but I do think if Joe and Mary down the street get subsidies for their education, that my family should as well. Homeschoolers and private schools, of course, by accepting government money fear that it will come with rules about spending it.
A lot of homeschoolers in our area are going the route of weekly tutoring meetings with large groups (it’s called “Classical Conversations” with a kick-butt curriculum) or a University model where the kids attend three days a week. It’s a much less expensive model for the kids and gives moms and dads some relief and input from other moms and dads. But guess who supplies the buildings? Churches !! The groups have to go *begging* for space. Space isn’t cheap.
I really think it’s time to overhaul the nation’s school systems. It’s going to take some organization.
