Yes, you read that right. Bill Maher, after the mention of Herman Cain’s lead over Romney, says Romney is the only thing standing between us and the rise of the apes. This comment was made during an interview given by George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s Good Morning America, Monday morning.
If this doesn’t make the headlines tomorrow, and if this isn’t one of the top stories on the MSM news programs, we will all know for certainty the double-standard hypocrisy of the Leftists.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Yet, he’s, he’s still leading the field. Still is. I mean, he’s starting to fall just a little, but still leading the field.
MAHER: But, that’s just because they hate Mitt Romney.
STEPHANOPOULOS: They do.
MAHER: You have got to feel bad for Mitt Romney. I mean, he’s been led, so far, by Trump, then Bachmann. Then Perry. Then Cain.
STEPHANOPOULOS: But, he kinda hangs in there. He’s everyone’s second choice.
MAHER: I’m rooting for him. You know? Because, look, in a country with only two parties, the Republican can always win. I mean, at least he eats with a knife and fork. I mean, he is all that stands between us and the rise of the apes.

If ANYONE on the Republican side had said this it would be news for two weeks.

Of course Maher will sing a different tune if Romney is the nominee, and starts talking about the Mormon craziness.
Why does BM want anything worth considering?
Obviously, there’s a double standard... and I can’t stand Maher ... but with that said I don’t think he meant this to be a racist statement.
Big surprise, that just puts him on the same page as Carl Rove, Brooks, Krauthhammer, Hume, Medved, and the rest of the Republican establishment together with the MSM.
That borders on hate speech.
If a Republican had said this the media would have broken into regular programming to start spewing how this is hate speech blaa blaa blaa..but when a progressive a-hole like Maher says it(This guy has serious and I mean SERIOUS mommy issues) its no big deal, hey he’s just a comedian right..Id love to tell him to his face exactly what I think of him
Does Bill Maher work for the GOP these days? He sure sounds like Karl Rove, Ed Rollins, David Frum and all the other RINOs. Actually, referring to Herman Cain as an ape is actually nicer than some of the garbage the RINOs have thrown at him lately.
Because Maher knows Obama will squash Romney like a bug.
Well, there’s only one other way of interpreting it, and it’s hardly less bigoted.
The “rise of the apes” is his Darwinian formulation for us ordinary folks, who don’t belong to the elite class of media moguls, like Bill Maher.
For me the Mitt is 3rd to last with Huntsman 2nd to last and Paulkook way way down entrenched in last place in the category all his own.
Oh come on, Paul would be fun just for the entertainment value.
Really,he sounds like he is on Fox News not HBO.
Seem like the RINOs can stoop as low as the Rats, but I'm sure Maher hasn't worked in years.
