Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

You cannot accuse me of accusing you are part of some organization because I used a term that can be confused with that organization.

I don’t think you or anyone in this thread is part of a Christian Identity organization.

Any accusations of that came from you, not me.

Liar. You used the term as an accusation against other FReepers.

I want the anti Mormon doctrine posts off political threads and in the religion forum. I certainly did not post those posts filled with anti-Mormon, Christian identity issue tripe...

Here is the proof in your own words.

This thread, post 4851

While I do believe you have been corrected in your fallacy about Reagan I do want to add that I find trying to use such a great man to justify anything about Mitt to be quite distasteful...

Christian Identity is a religious ideology popular in extreme right-wing circles. Adherents believe that whites of European descent can be traced back to the "Lost Tribes of Israel." Mu Despite its small size, Christian Identity influences virtually all white supremacist and extreme anti-government movements. It has also informed criminal behavior ranging from hate crimes to acts of terrorism.

What is the difference between using the "nazi" terms and this?

None. I think that we have an apologist on our hands.

Look, he is obviously going to have admit that he screwed up on his healthcare crap , I pray. But as far as the abortion quotes, you could also transpose Reagan there as Reagan was pro choice also and switched! Yet you will not give Romney that same grace that you have given Reagan. Not right and very reactionary.

You make basically the same argument in favor of OBAMA in this post.

"O please Michael. He earned a lot of positions by his gift of gab and BS! He put in hours and hours of phone work and learned the law and how to use the government to “help” people. Not the direction that is American at heart, but he still has worked for what his social skills have taught him...socialism is good! To him. it was not all just given to him. We obviously see him as wrong, but to say he never earned anything is hogwash."

Not a troll, huh?

Nope. The ADL is something I definitely do not even remotely support. Abe Foxman is a nutter.

Agreed.

Pulling quotes out of context of discussion can mean lots of things when you twist it for your own gain. Want to see me do it?

Sure. Go for it.

Usually when someone says they’ll apologize if they are wrong, and they are proven wrong, they apologize.

I never said I would apologize, I said I would accept the consequences. So far there haven't been any.

Using your viewpoint as an analogy, let’s say you started a website for folks who dislike doctors and attracted a sizeable following. Let’s call it FReefromdocs.com Pretty soon, a bunch of other people joined your site and thought.... slightly differently but they all perceived that the original owner & followers of FR were stoopid and lacked pragmatism because sometimes it’s okay to see a doctor. Wouldn’t all those people who sign up to the site and don’t see it the same and try to separate the doctor-dislikers from their doctor-disliking belief every few years when a major doctor issue came up... wouldn’t all those people be trolls? And what do you do when you have more trolls signed up than originalists?

I’m going on the attack in public. I might be out of line - if so, I’ll accept the consequences.

Early on on this thread I had some conversation with a freeper named Tamzee. A good freeper since 2003, but something just didn’t feel right about her accusations of FR attacking Mormons so I took a look at her posting history.

She posted quite regularly during the elections of 2004, but during the elections of 2008, she was mostly silent. She made 100 posts from Nov 2006 to March of 2008, then 100 more from March of 2008 to Sept 2009. She made 100 posts for the whole year from Sept 2009 to Sept 2010. Then she was absent except one post until April of 2012. I teasingly asked if she had been on a Mormon mission - but she stated she hadn’t been absent at all. Then she went silent again.

Don't worry....As attacks seem to be within acceptable limits here nowadays, I don't think you will be considered out of line. I'm puzzled as to how to respond, though. My instinct is to defend myself against this "attack" (your word) that I could be a Mormon. My faith calls me to proclaim to the world that I am not and, since I love witnessing my experience, I will do so gladly. I was baptized and raised Lutheran, and through a stunning personal miracle, experienced the direct and merciful hand of God intervening in my life. I am a born-again Christian and was baptized again as an adult in a Baptist church that I attend joyfully every Sunday with rare exception.

That said, it distresses me that a different religious background than this would be allowable grounds for an "attack", religiously or politically.

"But every difference of opinion is not a difference of principle. We have called by different names brethren of the same principle. We are all republicans, we are all federalists. -Thomas Jefferson"

In 2006, Heller told the Las Vegas Review-Journal “I’m a Mormon and I teach Sunday school every week, but I do back a woman’s right to choose abortion.
NOT a conservative position.
Oh, yea and HE makes his Mormonism an issue, so we should be able to talk about it.
