How is it that in this day and age, a man can kill an unarmed teenager in cold blood, get acquitted and then get his gun back a few days later? How is it that a man who cannot pass the tests necessary to become a police officer—possibly due to failing the psychological portion of the testing—can get a gun permit? How is it possible that George Zimmerman can walk this earth today legally armed, while Trayvon Martin is buried six feet under due to a bullet that came out of Zimmerman’s gun? Only in America.
The Kel Tec PF-9 pistol Zimmerman used to kill Martin will be kept by his side, and according to his attorney Mark O’Mara, Zimmerman needs the weapon now because “there are a lot of people out there who actually hate him.” And why do they hate this man, who is probably still wearing his bulletproof vest? They hate him because he went out on the street when he was told not to and killed a young man out of fear and maybe hate.
He killed a young man because he could be sure that the so-called justice system would let him “stand his ground” and tell him it is all right to kill if you feel that your li fe may be in danger, even if you sought out that “danger” yourself.
Furthermore, something must be done about jury selection in Seminole County, where more than 10 percent of the population is African-American yet no African-Americans were among the jurors.
With laws like “Stand Your Ground,” with people like George Zimmerman and with organizations like the NRA, it is still open season on Black Americans. We talk about the violence in our communities; we talk about the illegal guns that are on the streets. We try to figure out ways in which we can stem the violence, and it is hard work.
We know that we are not the ones who are flooding our communities with guns. We know we are not the ones who are the drug kingpins. We know we have to stop this madness, and the laws that have been enacted are not protecting us. The guns are still flowing and our children are still dying.
But what about the legal guns, the ones used in Newtown, the ones used in Colorado and the one used to kill Trayvon Martin? In these cases, the guns were legal. In the Trayvon Martin murder, the gun was Zimmerman’s. We need to change the laws; we need to change the attitudes.
There is no reason on God’s green earth why what happened to Martin should be allowed, and furthermore, there is no reason why the man who killed him should be allowed to pick up his Kel Tec PF-9 pistol, carry it legally and maybe kill again. No reason, no justice and no peace for Trayvon Martin, his family or our communities.

Furthermore, something must be done about people who escape from college without ever encountering a class called "Probability and Statistics" or something similar...

It was the prosecution that excused the potential black juror. Also, St. Skittles wasn't the one on trial. If you want to complain about the racial make up of the jury, you should be complaining that there was only one Hispanic. But, I guess it is hard to find "White Hispanics".

She’s got a point. I doubt George will let another zombie get that close again, but the Kel Tec muzzle pressed against T-bone and the slide caused the pistol to go out of battery preventing a double tap. He might consider a revolver.
