I’m no artist, but why would a painting made in the 1960’s be worth $10 million dollars if the artist is not named Picasso?

At least Picasso had an objective for his badly drawn art. He was trying make 3D art into 4D art, by 3ding 3D art.
I can’t see anything from the Close paintings I looked up for the reason they are badly drawn.

Other works by Close have fetched as much $4.8 million at auction
A "Dogs Playing Poker" painting by Coolidge sold for $658,000 back in 2015. This, to me, is much better value.

This story has me starting to worry a little. I’ve bought up as many Hunter Biden paintings as I can, trusting they’d be worth millions some day. Here’s my latest Hunter Biden acquisition, direct from the easel of the master.

IRS should go after the giver and collect the gift tax based on $10 million. slam dunk case (LOL)

Obviously you’re an unsophisticated rube. This work speaks deeply to my soul, and inspired the work of many others in what Rush used to call the arts and croissants crowd, including the artiste who created the crucified Ronald McDonald depicted in the article’s pictures, and the greatest of his generation, Hunter Biden

Modern “Art” is driven by the Greater Fool Theory of finance. One fool finds a greater fool to buy his “art” It has the true value of Beanie Babies. Most of it is incredibly absurd. But there are lots of fools out there.

***It has the true value of Beanie Babies.***
I went by a book store years ago that had a huge crowd outside. I found they were auctioning off a new supply of Beanie Babies. it was women who were buying them.
Years later they found their beanie babies were worthless.
Same for my mother-in-law’s collection of old Barbie dolls.
It is something in women that thinks such things will become more valuable. Only thing I have found that will hold some value is ....guns.
