debacle : A general breakup or dispersion; sudden downfall or collapse.

Much like " quagmire ", an overused / misused word, fondly employed my extreme lefties, when talking about anything , at all, that a GOPer plans to do/ does.

The person ( info_scout ), who employed this word, referring to the FIRST SEVEN DAYS of this war, doesn't know the meaning of this word. He is parroting erronious codswallop; yet claims to be " making up his own mind."

Yes, WE are going to win this war. In the end, the difficult job will be bringing our democratic , REPUBLIC type of governance to Iraq; however, we shall prevail.

No war, in all of recorded history, runs a smooth path. Yes, there are good days, bad days, and usually absolutely horrific days. Those, who haven't even a tenuous grasp of history, battles, and reality, spew garbage and imagine it to be brilliant, pearls of wisdom. If ONLY people would NOT talk about things they know little to NOTHING about, FR wouldn't have to spend so much money on wasted bandwidtdh. :-)

Good Read Here!

The overall war strategy had been locked in place earlier in the day -- at about 8 a.m. on the East Coast -- during a videoconference between the commander in chief and his top commanders in the Persian Gulf.

Surrounded by his war council in the White House situation room, Bush asked two questions of each military officer, according to a senior White House official who was intimately involved in the countdown to war.

"Do you have everything you need to win?" and "Are you comfortable and pleased with the strategy?"

The Central Command's combatant commanders for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Special Operations answered in the affirmative.

"For the peace of the world and the benefit and freedom of the Iraqi people, I hereby give the order to execute Operation Iraqi Freedom," Bush said. "May God bless the troops." http://www.freep.com/news/nw/iraq/bush21_20030321.htm

Debacle is a sudden, disastrous overthrow or collapse; ruin.

Nothing of the kind has occurred.

Only the dedicated opponents of this nation and this administration persist in this know-nothing negativism.

But that is obvious to many here, is it not?

Again, your reply resorts to the personal. If your convictions are secure, why attack an individual expressing another opinion? And I assure you my opinions are entirely my own, although as all of us are influenced by the information we have available (or are willing to consider).

Are you sure that people should not express opinions just because you do not agree? If they do not agree with an opinion does that mean the individual does not know what they are talking about, and are unworthy of 'bandwidth'? Perhaps I am mistaken, but I thought that was the whole point of maintaining a forum for the exchange of ideas among conservatives.
