Moore hasn't made a documentary, he's made the most most blatantly obscene political manifesto since "Mein Kampf".
I appreciate and hell, I even celebrate the time-honored American traditon of political dissent, but this guy....this fat bastard has made a 2 hour long political infomercial that people must PAY to see. And he's cloaking it in the angelic robes of patriotism for the sake of First Amendment righteousness, not to mention grandstanding in a presidential election year.
It is, in fact, a "commockukmentary"; That is to say that while it masquerades as truth, in the end it is a left-wing diatribe not seen in celluloid since "All The Presidents' Men"
The only problem is....
"All The Presidents' Men" was based on fact.
Moore asks us to take as gospel truth a conspiracy so broad and all-encompasssing that it rivals the Kennedy assasination.
There's an old axiom aboot Achems Razor that comes to mind.
A handfull of men governing a multitude of Men are inherently corrupt. But the conclusions Moore would like me to draw are just to outside the realm of possiblities.
So What's MORE logical? A secret cabal of right-wing judges on the Supreme Court engineered a coup d'etat so the moron son of Texas oilmen could usurp the White House in order to allow a violent attack on the the most vital symbol of American economi/military power, kill 3000 Americans, ensuring 2 wars inorder to ensure the strategic control over a fifth of the world's oil supply, while back home, he could pass the Patriot Act to circumvent the Constitution, all the while making evil oil barons rich beyond their wildest imaginings of avarice?????????? OR
Some real evil bastards killed a bunch of people who had done nothing wrong, and now instead of running scared, we are prosecuting a war we never envisioned on a ground of our choosing, at a time of OUR choosing, and showing a backward culture bereft of morality that letting folks live free is better than demanding that they die for Allah in a 1000 year old vendetta.
Jesus Christ. This isn't rocket science, and it damn sure isn't the 19-f**king sixties. What you folks need to realize, is that there are monsters in this world who don't give a damn whether or not you vote for John-effing Kerry in November. They want to come here and KILL you. And if they do it with a dull knife across the back of your neck, or with a nuclear device on a train or on a plane that just took off from Hartsfeild, or in a piece of luggage that a cab took to the Peachtree Plaza downtown..........it just doesn't matter to these people. Perhaps a little mustard gas in 5 Points Station at around 5:00 PM on a Tuesday???
