JFK,"The president hasn't put one nickel, not one nickel into the effort to fix some of our tunnels and bridges and most exposed subway systems. That's why they had to close down the subway in New York when the Republican Convention was there. We hadn't done the work that ought to be done."
Really JFK? What's this link http://clinton.senate.gov/~clinton/news/2002/07/2002719A53.html
I don't remember the subway being down from 8/30 to 9/2. Oh yeah there was a big rain storm on Tuesday 9/8 in NYC and some lines were flooded so they were shut down. So maybe JFK was refering to that. The only problem is the RNC was a week before that. http://www.eklektik.net/mm/wav/democrat.wav
I didn't realize subway trains were a federal responsibility.
Oh My!
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
And all this talk about firehouses. Aren't firehouses primarily locally controlled?
According to JFK the answer is NO
yes. But that doesn't matter to a liberal. They want control of everything done by the federal government.
