Never Forgive, Never Forget

Last night (10/05/04) we had the VP Debate between the Real VP, Mr. Cheney, and the "Pretender", Mr. Edwards.

Mr. Cheney had a lot more substance than Mr. Edwards, who was just a pre-programmed Dem robot spouting the same talking points as always (which I am not going to recount here). At any rate, there is one "talking point" that I am getting tired of and I wish the President would rebut it.

It has to do with the whole "War on Terror" battlefield. The challengers keep insisting that we should have finished in Afghanistan before moving on Iraq. We should have taken out UBL before the Baghdad Butcher, AND we should not have attacked Iraq since the Butcher had nothing to do with September 11, 2001.

Yes he did.

He had as much to do with September 11, 2001 as the Nazis did with December 7, 1941, yet we did not hesitate to take on the Nazis and open a tw0-front war and more to defeat these mosters and threats to the civilized world.

The Butcher is a liar and a monster and certain people want to take his word for it? His word and the words of so many other fanatics and opportunists that there was no conspiracy?

Please, the agendas are out of control and the hatred for President Bush by certain Americans borders on the psychotic.

Granted, the war could have been fought somewhat smarter at the beginning, but that is hindsight. Regardless, it is a war that needs to be fought, and won, and the enemy needs to be destroyed, not captured and coddled, destroyed!

They are the enemies of civilization. Their actions makes the Nazi SS troopers look like amateurs. The Butcher is one of them, and one "with them", but not for "religious reasons" simply for power. He is a cultural rapist, looking merely for power over others, with no fear of retribution.

The need to go into Iraq was a sound strategic move, it gave Al Queda one less place to hide, to escape to, to prepare to attack the U.S. and other western powers. Removing Iraq as an oasis, along with the cooperationof Pakistan, allows them only to use Iran and we can keep an eye on that.

Yes, there has been a major influx of these monsters into Iraq to challenge us and to prevent the Iraqi people from forming a democracy, but the monsters are just that: Monsters. They are not insurgents, or rebels, or freedom fighters or even the "noble opposition", they are baby killers and murderers and rapists and terrorists, and the enemies of civilization. They deserve nothing more than that which they all seem to want: death. They will never fit in, or "play nice", they are outlaws and outcasts who do not deserve to be protected by the laws of civilization, until they decide to OBEY the laws of civilization.

Beyond that, the enemy is in disarray, their supply lines are non-existent and safe houses are few and far between. Many of our problems have been caused by our "allies" still trading with our enemies, giving them aid and comfort in many ways. Too many of the allies that abandoned us did so out of greed, not need, and lack of morals, not moral outrage.

We have lost over 1000 brave troops since the war began, God bless them and keep them and their families, and thousands more wounded in a little over 18 months, and that is bad but must be dealt with. We lost over 2800 innocent lives in a little more than two and one half hours on September 11, 2001, and that also must be dealt with.

"Remember the Alamo" was the battle cry that gained independence for Texas in 1836, "Remember the Maine" carried our troops in the Spanish American War in 1898, "Remember Pearl Harbor" carried us through World War II, and "Remember September 11th" should be all we need to say now.

What is wrong with some of our fellow Americans?

Remember September 11th. Carry the images and sounds with you every day, tucked away somewhere inside. That's what we're fighting for, and that's what we're fighting to prevent from ever happening again.

Never Forgive, Never Forget.
