Hello all.....and (again) a very Merry Christmas! Just wanted to give 'ya a little update..... News: nothing positive here....so I'll leave that to the media specialists. Oh! The Iraqi people celebrate the "holiday" too..will do some more research to find out how Christ fits into the Koran....
Intel: been quiet here for a couple of days; lots of people moving thru the country, have you ever heard of such nonsense?, as they journey to Mecca and Medina for the "Hajj".
Weather: snowed and sleeted here the other day, Sunday I think it was...no accummulation tho'...turned into rain. Imagine coming to the desert (of all places) to see snow, sleet, and temps below freezing. It has been in the lower 20's at night and only into the upper 30's or 40's during the day. The wind blows all the time, so figure the wind chill thing into the equation. Took me a couple of nights but I figured out why the moon at about 9pm-ish is NOT in the east sky....usually it's west of straight overhead....disappearing totally by about 5am-ish....the results: I saw the moon today, about 2pm-ish, already up in the eastern sky...hmmmmmm! Again, so many stars out at night it's simply amazing! Really wish you see this!!! Finally, it's suppose to get really cold in about a week and stay that way until February....I'll keep 'ya posted on that!
Holiday: looks as tho' we'll have off on Christmas day...not sure about church services...no mention of those yet...not sure when Santa is due to arrive either....wonder if he gets hostile pay for deliveries in a war zone? Hooch has quite the decorations, thanks to many families back home :) All we need is you.....!
Supplies: I'm doing quite well..thanks to all the efforts of a some very special people back home!!! Keep the cards and letters coming.
Morale: mine is pretty good! Thank God for that! Otherwise, it sucks. Pray for the troops.....this is going to be a tough time to get thru. Command element is NOT helping matters either. (Sorry Meg) I am so disappointed in our leadership, uh, lack of.
Enough said......we have so many other things to be thankful for Food: It's better than eating MRE's! (lol)
Work: What's that? (lol) Still doing mostly security stuff, "outside the wire"....getting to do some builder type stuff on Thursday and Friday...days I don;t have to take the security element off base. More on what I'm/we're building later.Working on some more pictures of "life in the fast lane" (lol)will send those off to Roger when I'm done. Thanks Roger!!!
Not much else going on.....computers and phones are down more than up.....guess all-in-all I am (still) very blessed!!! With all the wonderful family, friends, co-workers and Curt back home who could ask for anything more?

Let Larry know that we're praying for him and that someday, when he's old and gray, he's going to look back on all this with a great deal of pride and satisfaction, that he stood up for what was right and good, while others shirked and smirked -- as hard as that may be for him to believe right now!
