Kingdom of Heaven: Propaganda Film?
Little Green Footballs ^ | 5-01-05 | LGF

LGF operative zombie has posted a must-read report on the Ridley Scott film about the Crusades, with information you haven’t seen elsewhere: Ridley Scott’s Kingdom of Heaven: Propaganda Film?

* The film distorts history to portray Muslims in a good light.
* Nevertheless, Muslims at first attacked the film while it was being made (including death threats).
* Ridley Scott then subsequently slanted the film even further to appease Muslim special interest groups.
* Eventually most of them agreed it was sufficiently dhimmified.
* (The film, is also explicitly anti-religion, to please the Lefties.)
* Dr. Hamid Dabashi, featured in Columbia Unbecoming, was given a private screening by Ridley Scott and gave the film his stamp of approval, as Scott viewed him as “an important Muslim in New York.”
* Khaled Abou El Fadl at UCLA is still opposed to the movie, claiming the film will cause hate crimes against Muslims.
* The IMDB message board for KoH was deleted in its entirety due to Muslim extremists flooding the board.
* Christians may be planning a boycott of the film.

He probably thought THe Passion Of The Christ was antisemitic.

Christians may be planning a boycott of the film.

I'll be a boycott of one and take a pass on this movie.

I'm just surprised they waited so long to make the movie. Liberals love talking about the Crusades in their efforts to demonize Christians.

In the words of General Buck Turgidson, I'm beginning to smell a big, fat, Arab-Muslim politically sympathetic rat hit-piece on Christianity in this flick. Typical that Scott bowed to concerns by the Muzzies - mustn't offend them must we?.

Too bad that Scott's pandering has probably ruined what could have been a great action flick and an honorific to Western civilization.

Sounds like a bunch of hearsay and speculation to me. I post on the IMDB daily as I love movies and I can state as fact that the KoH board is fully operational, which leads me to sincerely doubt other statements. (as an aside, there are constant flamewars on IMDB. It is basically a site where kids go to spout off about movies. Check any controversial movie and you'll see the hate seething forth - check
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0361596/board/threads/
)
Scott is a fantastic movie producer and has given us such greats as Gladiator and Blade Runner, and Black Hawk Down. This doesn't mean that he's some fantastic conservative, but I doubt a flaming lib would have done due diligence on Black Hawk Down like he did.

I think the studio suits distributors PRAY for boycotts.

It seems this film is just going to be ignored. No boycott needed.

(they will of course blame christains, conservatives, and particularly GWBush.)

To hell with what the Muslims feel. Very few of them cried any tears when those two buildings came down. They behave like animals and then become offended when someone portrays or labels them as "animals".

I would love to see an authentic Crusades movie made, one in which both sides are portrayed accurately.

The real losers in the Crusades were the Christian inhabitants of the Holy Lands, and, of course, the Orthodox Christians of the Eastern Empire.

The more muslims that don't want me to see this movie, makes me want to see it even more.

Yes but that was the GOOD Ridley Scott, this is the EVIL Ridley Scott, who's sold out to the PC commie/pinko crowd that want to destroy America, and if this movie is successful it will be the end of the republic.
