I sit here on a Tuesday morning wondering what has happened to our news establishments. Normally I denounce the liberal media, but last night normally conservative news sources were awash with the story of the "runaway" bride.
It is not that I do not feel for this poor soul, I just think there stories of greater significance to the world than hers. Some of those to consider:
United Nations reassessing Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty North Korea fires missile into sea of Japan Secretary of State Rice holds her ground vs. Kim Jong IL Iraqi government set to be sworn in Australian contractor held hostage in Iraq Freeway shootings in Los Angeles Minutemen project to start in California Firefighter wakes up after 10 years (remember Terri Schiavo?) . . . just to name a few
I understand that this woman got cold feet. I understand that she cut her hair and bought her bus ticket well in advance. I understand that the police spent time and money searching for her. I believe the poor woman needs help. I do not, however, regard this as front page news!
Yeah, don't these people know that THERE IS A WAR ON?

This guy needs to lighten up.
It's kind of like televising the Mary Kay Letourneau wedding. If no one would watch it, they wouldn't televise it.
