Air America a no show in Boston radio ratings!
Radio Equalizer Blog ^ | 05/26/05 | Brian Maloney

(latest radio ratings in Boston):

WBZ holds first place with a 7.3.

Conservative talker WRKO up slightly, from a 4.1 to a 4.3, for sixth place overall.

Conservative WTKK-FM turns in a flat performance and ranks 10th.

Air America's two Boston stations disappear from the radar screen, that's right, they are no-shows. Blame the signal quality all you want, but they were getting at least some ratings before. Even major free publicity from the Boston Globe didn't help one bit. Can't wait to hear the lame excuses. Bet the Globers won't be dwelling on this news.

Air America is bombing big time in liberal Boston. After truly horrible ratings for the last couple ratings periods, the latest one has them _not showing up at all_! This despite more than a few plugs in the Boston Globe and Boston Herald (more than a few articles plugging Stephanie Miller's remote in Beantown). Tons of liberals in the Hub, and their reaction to Scare America is a big thumbs down! Soros' money is well spent!

I live outside Boston and NO ONE listens to that channel.

I wonder if they'll take the Spinal Tap defense; there the manager said Boston wasn't a big college town; I guess Al Franken (whose ugly mug is plastered on cab roofs here) will explain that "Boston's not a big liberal town".

The site for these statios (http://www.bostonsprogressivetalk.com ) has a video link
from SeeBS-owned WBZ-TV, plugging Stephanie Miller and Air America. "Well, now liberals are fighting for their chance to bend your ear", says the newscaster. Hello! Like they don't already have CBS, CNN, PBS, NPR...???

Isn't it truly amazing how much Liberals spin this stuff? They just can't come out and call a dud a dud.

...Don't be surprised if Al Franken somehow blames the abysmal failure of this exercise in mediocrity on President Bush.

Actually I'm sure Al will blame it on the "devastation" of the public school system under Bush and all Republicans, blah blah blah.

Funny how Demmies have had control of local school districts for decades, yet they continually bitch about no money going to the schools, thus we've created this awful school system which they control, yet it's not their fault.

Let them twist in the wind.

Franken is an idiot, and his nonsense does not sell because it is not entertaining, even in a college town full of nitwits.

So it goes.

Liberal ideas do not survive a medium that allows for feedback.

It supposedly needs two--WXKS is in Medford, about 5.8 miles north of Boston, while WKOX is in Framingham, about 20 miles
west of downtown. Supposedly both signals needed because of
signal weakness, especially after dark, though they seem
pretty powerful to me--especially within the Rt 128 belt where
many people, especially libs, live.

It's not like either station is out in the boonies. Yet it can't get even mediocre ratings in Kennedyland.

I was kidding around on the Boston radio-info board, suggesting that WFNX-FM , owned by the ultra-liberal Boston Phoenix weekly, might consider running AAR. Right now they get 1 per cent of the audience with alternative rock; they could pick up some AAR shows (and keep some of the music) on a nice clear FM signal and perhaps get, oh, 1.1 percent? That's more than the 0.0 they currently get.

WXKS went to liberal talk radio? Is that FM 107.5 or FM 107.9? I grew up in Medford in the 1970's and WXKS was the hot disco station in those days.

Just think, disco is better than liberal talk radio. Who wouldda thunk it ???

Oh no, you're thinking of WXKS FM 107.9, "Kiss 108", which is still a music station...

http://www.kiss108.com

The Scare America affiliate based in
Medford is the _AM_ side, WXKS (AM) 1430 which used to be "standards/Music of Your Life" (and got half decent ratings...). Both stations broadcast from studios near
the Wellington Circle "T" stop of course!
