I've long been struck by attempts to paint gun rights activists as paranoid. "[N]o one is seriously proposing to ban or confiscate all guns. You hear that only from the gun lobby itself, which whistles up this bogeyman whenever some reasonable regulation is proposed." Just modest, reasonable regulations, folks, that's all that it's about; and you must be an extremist or irrational if you're worried about more.
In response, I put up a Web page documenting all the groups and commentators that have urged total or near-total handgun bans (and in some instances bans on all guns); and, of course, those jurisdictions that have in fact implemented such bans. It hardly seems paranoid to worry about proposals that have been made by Senators, Representatives, mayors, editorial boards of the L.A. Times and the Washington Post, leading opinion journalists, and leaders of prominent gun control groups and that have been in fact enacted in some places (including our nation's capital).

Gun owners in NO may argue that point!
Just wait until we see what President Hillary, AG Schumer and FBI Director Spitzer spring on us.

They will set aside guantanamo bay for gun owners
It'll have to be cemetary space. No amount of illegal actions by our government will be sufficient to force me to give up my guns. I have a family to protect and I need the tools to do so.
They've told so many lies, and now they want me to believe this? Right.....
US Citizens have the Right to Bear Arms..the constitution does not limit citizens as to what TYPE of arms they can bear.
Any limits on gun ownership is a direct violation of our constitution. I'm not sure if I even agree with background checks to keep guns "out of the hands of criminals".
Those who break the law and murder already have the consequence: prison or death.
Bet there are a bunch of folks that have firearms purchased or acquired well before all the new, paranoid laws were in place..I think thats who the liberal, constitution hating, USA hating, islamofacist loving,Terror loving, anti-gun lobby is after.
Good luck boys...from my cold dead hands.
Lets go one step further and apply this to ALL Un-Constitutional "laws". No USA citizen has to follow an unconstitutional law set by an activists government or Judiciary..lets not forget WHY we have the Constitution after all...to "take care of" an out of control GOVERNMENT!
It's important for firearms owners to stay united and on message. Firearms owners should also join the gun rights organization of their choice, whether it be NRA, GOA, or another organization. There is strength in numbers.
Believe it or not, our situation has improved. A majority of states now have some sort of law allowing for handgun carry, and others are considering such legislation.
We will always have hoplophobes among us, those who have an irrational fear of firearms and think that the cure for their illness is taking away everybody's gun. We can't do anything for them, so let's concentrate on those who will listen to our message. If we set the example with responsible firearms ownership we will win converts to our cause.
UGH....you're scaring me.
