What happened last week made me sick. In a move designed to shut up the Democrats in the house, a bill was introduced that would have called for the immediate withdrawal of all US troops in Iraq. Only three Dem's voted for it, but not before some serious yelling and screaming.
Nancy Pelosi called it "A disgrace." A representative from Maryland chimed in with "The rankest of politics and the absence of any sense of shame." The whole mess started when John Murtha from Pennsylvania held a press conference about his plan to remove 160.000 soldiers from Iraq ASAP. Part of his solution would establish a quick reaction force and a 'presence' in the area.
I am not going to stoop to personal attacka against Murtha, who is a decorated vet, but what planet is this guy living on?

This clearly shows that liberals do not want to take responsibility for their words, that they are not averse to saying one thing and doing another, that they are interested only in getting power at the expense of what's best for the country, and that they have no core values or principles that they will not betray at the drop of a hat.
It shows the Democrats are VERY WORRIED about potential success in Iraq - and want to try to ensure failure.

As a proud Marine mom,my son just recently got back from his second tour of Iraq,Marines 2nd LAR,MARINES DON'T CUT AND RUN!!!I am embarassed that Murtha is being used like Cindy Sheehan was by the liberal left, what kind of a Marine is he,senility surely has taken over,he is a disgrace as a former Lt.Colonel. I was in Johnstown,Pa.and was interviewed by a Washington Post reporter on Sun.11/20 and I gave him a piece of my mind!! How can someone in Murtha's position do this to our brave soldiers, can you imagine how damaging this is to their morales,and how the enemy is rejoicing!!!911angelady
I agree, but one additional thought... if the Marines have the backbone to go out and fight the enemy, bravely, proudly, and totally committed to their jobs, then this idiot cannot possibly shake their resolve. He isn't even on the same level with these brave men.

They see the writing on the wall. A drawdown of ground troops will soon put the dims and the MSM in the position of having nothing to carp about.
The vote on Dec 15 will establish the first Democracy in the ME, and it will serve as Kryptonite to the other despots in the region.
A drawdown will also serve to unite Iraqis against the insurgency, as expelling the infidel will no longer be a cause the enemy can claim.
