Vanity post: Carving up Canada - any proposals?
vanity | 20 Dec 2005 | NZerFromHK

Given the incessant anti-Americanism from a majority opf Canadian people who are geographically unequally distributed, I'm thinking of proposals of dividing Canada into several regions so as to let the right-minded people able to control their own destiny, and more importantly for the US, to make it impossible for sworn enemies of the US to be able to control the giant landmass and hold Uncle Sam hostage ever again.

I'm thinking of dividing Canada into several regions:

1) Coastal BC: they are American-style leftists. Either allow an independent nation or produce an ultimatum - move to Souther Ontario.

2) Interior BC Alberta - conservative. Form an independent country or if its residents desire, admit them as the 51st state. Currently its people are divided between independence or US statehood.

3) Saskatcheswan, Manitoba, and Northern Ontario - socially conservative to outright economically socialist. But they are moving right, so allow them to join Alberta in whatever fate.

4) Souther Ontario from Windsor to Ottawa - the landmass with anti-American people, socialists, Tories, immigrants. Given the Loyalist legacy they would rather face death than US statehood. Leave this part as rump Canada.

5) Montreal and Cantons d'Est area - federalist francophones. Anti-American to the core. Let them join Southern Canada as rump Lower Canada.

6) The rest of Quebec - separatist francophones. Friednlier to Americans when compared with federalists, but not by much. Form an independent Quebec.

7) New Brunswick to PEI - poor regions dependent on Ottawa's handout. Another independent nation, or US statehood on the condition of abolishing universal public healthcare.

8) Newfoundland - independent nation or self-governing British colony.

9) The rest: Yukon, NWT, and Nuvanuk - under direct US military administration, and give them self-rule in due time. Give Yukon statehood if it desires.

Any other suggestions? ;-)

LOL - you should have my FReeper name for the day. ;)

I know they can seem like royal pains in the you-know-what, but a lot of them are pretty decent folks and many more will come around again. In any case, the Anglosphere is better off with a united Canada (hopefully led by Stephen Harper).

I don't want any of them. Better yet we give them New England Newyork City metro and Seattle. That would suit me.

I thought that the Maritime provinces had a higher overall support for Bush than AB did?

I used to think this as well, but I have seen quite a lot of Maritime Canadians who are like this:

"They should watch who they call retarded with that president of theirs.

For all his flaws ideologically and otherwise, atleast Martin is not a complete intellectual lightweight like Bush."

Notice that for God's sake he is a conservative Canadian! Sorry, if this passes for conservatives they need to grow up before they could do something useful in the world.
