And in Illinois, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley announced 4 pieces of gun violence prevention legislation that also included a bill to restrict anti-armor, .50-caliber sniper rifles.

Banning 50-Caliber Weapons
Another proposal, sponsored by Assemblywoman Patricia Eddington (D-Patchogue), would ban 50-caliber sniper weapons, which can be used to disable commercial aircraft and helicopters and are powerful enough to penetrate steel plating. These dangerous weapons which are used extensively by the United States military, are accurate from over one mile away. They continue to be available for purchase in New York by anyone who can buy a rifle. A report from the nationally-renowned Violence Policy Center found that these weapons have been purchased by the Al Qaeda terrorist network and used by other domestic and international terrorist organizations. Silver noted the Assembly had sought to include a ban on these weapons in a comprehensive state anti-terrorism law passed two years ago, but the proposal was rejected by the Senate and the governor each time. Silver called attention to California's recent enactment of legislation banning these weapons and called on New York to do the same.
"A 50-caliber weapon in terrorist hands is a nightmare scenario. With deadly accuracy, it can destroy targets from over a mile away. Designed for assassination and armor piercing, they are military weapons with no legitimate purpose on our streets. They are a clear and present terrorist threat," said Assemblywoman Patricia Eddington. "These weapons of war are easier to buy than handguns. As for mien Feurer daly chicago already has stronger gun control laws then any state on the books.So of course the crime rate is through the roof.The only people safe in chicago are the dozens of ARMED body gaurds assigned to protect Feurer daly and all the cops in chicago.Most of wich are bought and paid for whores of the gangbangers that have most of the weapons in chicago and use them on a daily basis against the illegally unarmed common citizens of little moscow errr I mean chicago

Anyone that supports gun control and wishes to disarm America also supports terrorism and terrorist ideals. Gun control advocates should be viewed as terrorist sympathizers and dealt with appropriately.
Try to take my .50 BMG rifle... you won't like the outcome.

I defy this group to prove this statement. Why would Al Qaeda pay $3000 or more for a 50 cal when they could buy an RPG for hundreds. Hey VPC, show me the proof that a 50 cal has ever been used in a crime.
Just an excuse to take another gun away from the citizens. They can't ban guns outright so they will do it piecemeal.
Actually Ronnie Barrett and one of the other 50 cal manufactorers have threatened just that to make a PRK legal version now that they have banned the 50BMG...
These people would ban anything that would travel farther or faster then you could chunk your average worthless, yet well guarded, fat ass politician (insert a picture of the Swimmer as to how far that might be).
