Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, Neal Gabler's gotta take outlandish swipes at the Bush administration on Fox Media Watch. And, perhaps in a form of childish defiance, Gabler also has a penchant for biting the Fox hand that feeds him.
On tonight's episode, Gabler:
Claimed that Vice-President Cheney "doesn't believe in a free press."
Described the shooting accident as "idiocy" on the VP's part.
Accused Brit Hume of not asking the 'major question' in his interview of Cheney [having to do with the timing of notification].
Seconded the notion that the shooting might have been a 'conspiracy' and 'good PR' for purposes distracting attention from the latest Abu Ghraib photo release and other administration problems. Cal Thomas had floated the notion as a joke, but Gabler seemed to pick up on it seriously.'
Mocked Fox's objectivity, saying "when the Vice-President shoots somebody in the face, it's big news. I don't care where you live, even on Fox News, it's a big story."
Alright Neal, you've met your quota for the night. See you next week.
One of the reasons that I love Saturday mass is that I miss seeing Neil Gabler, who is on my list for the celebrity plane crash.
Ouch! I thought M&Ms were sweet ;-)
Your policy is a mistake, IMHO.
I suffer through the contemptible Gabbler so that I can hear Jim Pinkerton, one of the smartest, bravest, and most UNDERexposed voices of commentary we have on the right.
You know what? I don't believe in one either the way they are spilling the Secrets of this nation into the streets!! TREASON from the MSM.
I have to admit a number of times I have turned it off on the early airing only to watch it during the later showing. For some reason I can never seem to find the beginning of the early showing of The Beltway Boys so I watch the late version and then often watch more for Pinkerton than Cal.
Yeah, but.....you notice that NO ONE on that show really tries to rebut his foolishness and lies...
At least when Juan Williams says stupid stuff...Brit or someone else slaps him down, or at least points out the fallacy of his arguement..
Cal Thomas makes some good points...but never even attempts to correct Gabler's stuff....Jane is a, a, LIB...and Pinkerton is a weird egg...that sometimes makes sense, sometimes doesn't..
The only thing that could make that panel worse, would be to add Robert Novak....
LOL...oooeeeee....I know I want to stay on your good side!!
I am all astonishment! You have a list for a celebrity plane crash?
But Gabler revealed his own (egotistical) view when he said that Cheney doesn't realize that he is ACCOUNTABLE TO THE PRESS!
I thought he was accountable to the PEOPLE (voters) and the CONSTITUTION.
The Press!?
Hey get over yourselves Gregory and Gabler.
Hey Neal .. nice try in changing the topic
No one said it wasn't news .. or even big news
What many have been talking about is the CHILDISH and UNPROFESSIONAL behavior from many in the DC Press Corp
Nope .. and to be honest .. it's kind of scary at how unhinged they are ..
I used to watch that panel religiously and if we went out on Saturday nights, I'd tape it. Now I just ignore it like ABC evening news. LOL
Thanks for working the weekends. FReeper comments are outstanding!
My pleasure, PG. There is a certain perverse entertainment value to Gabler. I do agree with the Txsleuth who said he wishes someone on the panel would counter Gabler's arguments more aggressively, though.
LOL...... Gabler still hasn't used that enema, eh?
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my FoxFan list. *Warning: This can be a high-volume ping list at times.
Thanks for the ping!
Thanks for the ping.
