What about the second part of my post... the border-security issue. How do you qualify the president's leadership on this issue?

The thing is, I maybe a retard.. because I don't see too many people, even here in FR, touching the subject!...from the moment I heard about the "ports security issue" I immediately thought of the "border" and our war in Iraq. All 3 things related under the name of SECURITY. Now, if SECURITY is so important that we have to send people to die defending it in Iraq, doesn't stand to reason the the securing the border should have taken place years ago as well? I would have thought that the border would have been shut close a long time ago, give the fact our dear president cares so much about our security.

Border security is one of the hottest topics on FR. Did you do a search on it before you posted your opinion? As for the Prez's leadership on border security, it's non existent.

ok, that is my feeling to. But my question is...HOW do you explaing the inconsistency?

And it is true that all this uproar about the ports-issue is just the product of hysteria and ignorance of many of us, why would the president feel we should take him at "his word?"... I say that all this noise about the ports has to do with his lack of credibility on the very issue of SECURTY... Many of us simply do not trust him!.. not because he is an evil person, as the Dems will try to paint him, but because his actions - his jugdment -especially on the border, where the defficiencies are so clear to everyone, show exactly the opposite. I want to understand WHY he has not done anything on securing the border. Because as long as I don't have a satisfactory answer on this, I will got give him the benefit of the doubt on other issues, especially on security.
