HOLYOKE, Mass. -- Haleigh Poutre's birth mother is expected to file a court motion seeking more of a say in her daughter's medical care.
Allison Avrett plans to appear in Holyoke Juvenile Court on Wednesday.
Haleigh, 12, has been hospitalized since police say her adoptive mother and stepfather severely beat her in September.
About a week after taking custody of the Westfield girl in September, the Department of Social Services sought permission to remove her from life support.

What is strange is that the article referred to Billy O'Reilly as "conservative." (I have rarely seen liberal columnists referred to as liberal) Have liberals gone so over the top that anyone who opposed pedophilia is now a conservative?
Connor has been caught with cocaine in his possession on one of his many DUI's. For me, I found it outrageous that this judge could be the one handing out sentences to people who can't control their behavior, when he couldn't do it himself. He was disbarred for a while a few years ago when his DUIs came under public scrutiny. For some stupid reason, the voters voted him back in office a few years ago. I think sometimes they just go with recognizing someone's name and vote for that person. It really makes me angry.
I just heard a woman on the radio saying, "Well, he's a democrat, so I probably voted for him...but when it comes to our children's safety, politics shouldn't come into play." She is hoping for Connor's ouster, but why don't these people think about this before they vote for the guy?
Also, one of our local talk radio guys will be on (supposedly) with Bill O'Reilly tonight. Even though he is conservative (the talk show guy), he had Judge Connor on his show last night, and parrots that Connor made the right decision based on what was before him. I'm not so sure I agree with him on that point. Connor seems to think he makes good decisions all the time, but I think his many DUI's are proof that he doesn't always think so clearly. It's too bad for people here that they conveniently forgot all about his DUI's when the election happened a few years ago.
IMHO, Connor is a pervert. Only a pervert could view sexual assault on children as casually as he does, sending a message that it's okay to it and don't worry about going to jail no matter what the laws.
Not to mention that they yanked 5 of her teeth out during this peroid of no visitation. Just a little payback for 'injecting' her with something I guess.
When I checked for "A Life that Matters" on amazon, guess what? Mike's book popped up right with it.
Those acts were sick and demented.
