Several years back at Fair St Louis (4th of July) air show they had a Harrier. Too cool. I was on the steps leading up from the river to the Arch. It came in from the South low and slow, stopped right in front of us and started doing 45's. Close enough I could see the pilot. The noise was deafening.

"Hey! I just found out that B-2 Stealth Bomber will be doing a flyover here at the Ft. Lauderdale Air & Sea show this weekend. I've seen it before. Too kewl! It is really IMPRESSIVE low and up close. Too bad no B-52 bomber is scheduled for a flyover. I've seen that here too and it is awesome."

DU hat on: PJ, if it is a stealth how do you expect to see it?

On another note, I had the awesome experience of seeing a B-52 flying below me as I stood atop a mountain. They did low level training here in the great void in the 80's and I was standing on one side of a valley that they used to fly through at about 500 ft elevation. Noisy beasts.

The great thing about the Ft. Lauderdale Air & Sea show is that you can just wade out into the ocean and watch the show from the COOOOL comfort of the water. I don't know of any other air show where you can do that. It was a BRILLIANT idea to schedule that show for the first weekend of May which is usually slow for tourists. Instead this area gets a whole bunch of tourists in to see the show and folks can stay cool by wading out into the water.

Witnessed a Stealth flyover last May. It's amazing how close it gets before one hears it. Very cool.

The most amazing thing about B-52s is that they are STILL operational. They first came out in 1954, 52 years ago. 52 years before 1954, the first airplane had yet to fly.

One way to trap a MIHOP DUmmie into proving how stupid they are is this:

DUmmie: Yep, all the reports I've read by experts like Charlie Sheen say that it should have toppled over into other buildings.
Me: But you think Bush is too stupid to be able to do this so how could he have gotten it done?
DUmmie: Of course he's too stupid. That's why they hired experts in the field of demolition to do it.
ME: So wouldn't these "experts" know that the building should topple over. And therefore they would've set the charges to make it topple over. That way it would've looked more realistic, it would've caused more damage and more deaths which would've helped Bush even more.
DUmmies: Uhh, I didn't say I had all the answers. I've got to go now.

I also point out that if they "knew" it when it happened then they didn't base their knowledge on any facts, just hatred.

I used to stay at a Holiday Inn in Lauderdale about once a month. You had to walk across the street to get to the beach. Not a very nice motel, but convenient to walk to some good places to eat. Some day I will relate a story about getting ejected from an open air resteraunt about 4 blocks from the motel.
