What the heck is going on with Santorum in Pennsylvania?
myself | 10/28/2006 | Artemis Webb

Posted on 10/28/2006 6:57:25 AM PDT by Artemis Webb

Can somebody explain to me what is going on in Pennsylvania with Santorum?

I'm in Missouri and I have to admit I really don't know much about the man but I do know he has a rating in the mid 90's from the American Conservative Union.

Realclearpolitics.com has Santorum as being down 10.2% in the polls.

Good Lord! How the heck are we suppose to get that sonofabitch Murtha out of the Pennsylvania 12th and get Diana Irey in if we can't even hold on to an incumbent Senate seat?

You register here TODAY and somehow you have access to internal polling. Hmmmmm......

That doesn't even make sense. Does one have to be resisted at FR for some period of time before getting access to internal polling? If so, where is mine?

Internal polling is usually secret and paid for. Karl Rove has his internal polling so you think he is going to make it available to some newbie on the FR? Those internal polls help to make your campaign strategy and kept SECRET.

He makes valid points

He thinks the conservative base is not energized. I say horse feces, because had he took the time to review the mid-term threads all of this talk about conservatives staying home is bunk. Conservatives are activated, they may not be fired up and they may hold their nose but they'll vote nontheless

And somehow he has access to SECRET internal polling that is paid for by the Republicans. Sorry but I'm just NOT buying it.

Only Freepers have internal polling? Is that what you are saying? Pull it out.

StopSexPredators blog was started back in July with a bunch of innocuous postings until it began posting the Foley e-mails in late September. The fact that a blog has been around a few months doesn't mean this is an authentic conservative. When a newbie starts right away posting about a "demoralized" GOP base, that automatically arouses suspicions...especially when such a newbie claims to have access to SECRET internal pollings.

Let's do this the easy way...one step at a time. You were WRONG when you said that the blog was started two weeks ago. Correct?

A freeper would NOT have access to internal polling unless directly involved at the TOP levels of the campaign.

March. So? Read what I posted about the other blog. And HOW does someone have access to SECRET internal polling unless they are at the very TOP level of the campaign?

Is there some magic connection between FR and internal polling? Of course not.

He (or anyone) could be involved in a campaign anywhere in the country. He (or anyone) could be an long time activist in their city, county, congressional district, or state AND HE (or anyone) could have signed up for FR today. There you have it...a newbie with access to internals.

March. So?

OK...so you recognize that you were wrong about the date. How do you suppose you made that mistake? A little hasty on the trigger, perhaps?

How about this way...let's take his posts and blog at face value. First, Michigan is not a leading indicator of any national trend. It may be following a trend but it most certainly isn't setting one unless we are comparing it to some socialized depressed European economy. Second, Andrew Sullivan and the crazed GR link in the blogroll are hardly what I would call representative of this community.

I never said MI is a leading indicator of anything. Rather, I think the point I was making, and I may expand upon that, is that what we are seeing in other states like Ohio and PA is what we are seeking here in MI.

To those who said read the posts on Mid-terms...I did. I still think a significant portion of our base that are sitting on their hands...how else can you explain why conservative office holders are underperforming among ID'd Republicans? I can't.

Rather than get caught up in some kind of pharisaic argument about my conservative credentials, let's figure out how we can right the ship. If the answer is it's all the liberal media's fault and Nowling is troll, we are doomed.
