Part of the problem Conservatives have in dealing with liberals, is that we often forget to rigorously apply logic to their basic premises.

We let them build a fortress on top of a faulty or false premise, and when the fortress is attacked, it is much more difficult to tear it down.

That would be conspiracy to violently overthrow the U.S. Government. Even if you do nothing but discuss/advocate a violent overthrow of the Government, it is still a crime, I believe.

Uh.....ever been to DUmmies.com? The bravest thing they've ever done is pop a pimple.

Actually, I posted there, to the infamous thread about backyard testing with a rabbit cage proving that the steel in WTC had not "melted". (No one who knows what the hell he is talking about said it "melted", melting is when thermodynamic energy is greater than bonding energy. It went into "yield" when tensile strength@temperature is less than applied load. I did not point this out on DU.)

I was very respectful and polite, but said I didn't think the clown (not the word I used) had not really validated his model very well, that perhaps he did not completely understand strength of materials, thermodynamics and structural engineering.

I also pointed out the normal human tendency to accept evidence that confirms what we wish to think and reject evidence that refutes it.

For some reason, I was banned.

Courage aside, fanaticism can blind people to dangers. Fanatics aren't so much brave as deluded.

It would be the shortest and most uneventful civil war on record. Once these geniuses figure out how to crawl over the mountain of empty pizza boxes in their parent's garage (where so many of these boobs have a room), they can use those same boxes to make barricades. After donning their fashionable Che t-shirts and taking a few bong hits, these idiots will be ready to order more pizzas and continue building their barricades. Once the cops arrive and begin arresting the spoiled little dufuses for littering, they will start shreiking about Ashcroft's Gestapo tactics and then whine for their Daddy's slip and fall attorney. You know, just a few minutes ago, I briefly looked at Democratic Underground for the first time. Deeply traumatic experience. I didn't post a comment or anything, but just looking at all the deeply hateful and bigoted venom that they spew was revolting, especially how deeply anti- Christian 95% of them seem to be. Plus, they don't even have any kind of 'Search' feature on their site, so it's not only a vicious, bigoted site, it's also a poorly put-together site.
Then, I read this post.
My thoughts were, "Holy crap." These guys are completely insane. In addition, they also seem to be pretty stupid. They seem to think if they carried out a psychotic revolution like this, the only opposition they'd face would be from the police/National Guard/U.S. military. They probably are too stoned to realize that if they should go ahead with it, millions of conservative citizens interested in protecting their homeland and preserving law and order would almost certainly stand against them, too. That would be a fun sight to see, a bunch of whiny libs/ anarchists wearing protest shirts or Guy Fawkes masks trying to take over the government by force, but getting their scrawny butts handed to them by Freeper resistance.
