He fed the woodchippers (with victims). He watered the drowning. He slayed the innocent and unarmed. Then he died. Short story with a happy ending.

Well, in 3 years of solitary the activities like feeding the birds were probably his only escape from mental breakdown- which breakdown he managed to avoid to the last. It testifies not to his "inherent humanity", of which there was none, but to the workings of self-preservation instinct.

Yeah, and Hitler, liked dogs and small German children, and was a vegetarian for sentimental reasons.

Now that Robert Redford has done the "Motorcycle Diaries" maybe he can take this project on.

Did anyone else hear the quote where he urged us all not to hate? How touching. Actually I'm quite sure he really felt little hate. That would have dignified his victims. He did not consider them human enough to hate. His acts of murder were done with the same mindset that one of us has when killing germs with a disinfectant, or spraying for bugs.
