I submit for your consideration--Congressman Duncan Hunter of CA.--the former Chairman of the Armed Services Committee--a champion of the military, winning the War on Terror, secure borders and Fair Trade. A blip and an asterisk, but like a B-2 bomber, he is flying undetected by the usual political radar.

"2008 Presidential Election--Duncan Hunter Flying Under the Radar"

I like Duncan Hunter. But because he'd be a formidable Republican candidate I don't expect the media to give him even a token glance. If the Republican Party were smart they'd push for this guy though. He's bright, extremely articulate, amiable, experienced in Congress, patriotic, wants to stop illegal immigration, is strong on the WOT, and a man of deep morals and values. He'd trounce Hillary or any other liberal candidate.

..I guess we shall see if the MSM controls everything as before, or there truly is a new media which a candidate can use to run a new kind of campaign

This will be an interesting election; the MSM still has a stranglehold on the masses, but can grassroots - combined with the Internet - slip through its grip? Let's hope.

I’m not content to let the media pick who I should support. Hunter is pretty much untouchable and the media and democrats can’t be thrilled about that.

If the Republican Party were smart they'd push for this guy though.

That appears to be the problem. The GOP has become a different form of democrat who only want to dictate what they decide is good, and not necessarily what's good for us.

In my district's last congressional election the GOP backed their open borders outsource everything RINO against a conservative republican. When the conservative won I expected the GOP to back him against the democrat but those cowards didn't even do that. Fortunately the conservative won both the primary and the general election without the help of the GOP.

Next time someone tells you that the club for growth and the pro border security crowd cost the last election, just point to Tim Walberg who was endorsed by the club for growth and the Minuteman PAC.

Tim Walberg. Bill Sali. Chenowyth.

Those are some that I’ve heard. They all had the MSM saying they had “no chance”.

Are there other examples?

Greetings,

I know I’m the ‘new guy’. But for what it is worth, I will be interviewing Rep. Hunter next week for a podcast. If anyone has any questions they would like asked of him, let me know.

Regards,

Chin

Please ask him these questions.

1) What happened to the Barret Report, and why has it not being released in its entirety?

2) Does Mr. Hunter regard the 2nd Amendment as a bulwark against potential gov’t tyranny.

Thank you

I’ll certainly ask him #2, but I know he does, as does Huckabee.

Howdy HouseofChin:

Note that Duncan Hunter’s son posts here on Free Republic as Duncan Hunter Ambassador. There’s a weekly thread that gets posted by UltraSonic 007 that gathers the questions. So it would be good if you could review those few threads and pull up the unanswered questions.

I would like to know Duncan Hunter’s response to the Fred Thompson pre-campaign and what his strategy is regarding it. He already answered about Giuliani saying something like there were real differences but rudy’s a good man, that sort of thing. Is there anything we should be doing to increase his name recognition that we’re not doing?
