(PORTSMOUTH, NH) Dozens of Evangelical groups, meeting for the first time under the umbrella organization Council For New World Evangelicals, have called for John Roberts to step down as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and allow Ruth Bader Ginsburg to assume command.
According to a statement issued today and sent to President George Bush, Ruth Bader Ginsburg would be the perfect choice to head a more tolerant and less divisive Supreme Court.
Pamela R. Falcone, president of Evangelicals For Birth Tolerance, acknowledges Ginsburgs longstanding support for abortion, but doesnt find that prohibitive. Im getting sick tired of people perceiving us Evangelicals as inflexible, she said, becoming visibly agitated. For Gods sake, Christians invented the word tolerance. Christ told us to turn the other cheek.
Falcone added, We are in no way pro-abortion, and were very committed to children, but we want a solution that doesnt divide this nation with a sword.
David Inkster, founder of Evangelicals For The Fairness Doctrine, praised Senator Charles Schumers recent announcement that the Senate will not confirm any more of Bushs nominees for the Supreme Court under any circumstances. Its about time, he said.
Inkster called Bushs two recent appointments, Roberts and Samuel Alito, rigid and Roman, and said that if he could meet with both of them hed have just one thing to say, Judge ye not lest ye be judged yourselves.
Evangelicals For Birth Tolerance and Evangelicals For The Fairness Doctrine are among dozens of groups meeting this weekend for a conference in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. These organizations include: Evangelicals Against Global Warming, Evangelicals For National Health Care, Evangelicals For The Kyoto Protocol, Evangelicals Against The Border Fence, Evangelicals For Equal Results, Evangelicals Against Faith-Based Initiatives, and The Jesus Group, among others.

Yeahhhhh....riiiiight...that’s just what Christians need...
Surely someone will “follow the money” of this group and find out who’s really behind this obvious front-group.
OK...clearly I’ve been duped. :)
This is what is behind all of these NEW “evangelical” groups. No doubt they share the same FAX number as several other lefty groups and are comprised of 6 or 7 people at most.
HHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! What are these KOOKS Evangelizing for??? Schumer and Bader are pretty much anti-Christian from what I have seen.....while Roberts is a DEVOUT CATHOLIC!!
I’m pretty sure this article is a parody (I hope)
Mark
...from here...
So I see in the brave new world Of Leftist speak, mindless submission to their politically extremists dogmas is “tolerance”.
How about the screaming morons on the Left learn to TOLERATE the fact they keep LOSING elections and make peace with their minority political position instead of demanding everyone else submit to their personal political dogmas?
In other words, having hijacked the terms “episcopalian” and “methodist” and turned them to their own liberal (if not atheistic) purposes, the left is now out to co-opt the word “evangelical”. And thanks to the journalists, english teachers, and other assorted nutjobs on the planet, they are succeeding.
Is this satire?
I guess I missed it, but I have read the Bible from begining to end and never found the part where I’m supposed to be “tolerant”. That’s some made up crap they get away with because most have never actually read the book.
“Evangelical Christians Press For Ruth Bader Ginsburg To Become Chief Justice of the Supreme Court”
Um......no.
I never got the Memo
:(
Exactly. Best way to know is to find out who funds them. Anybody can call their group “Evangelical.” Kind of like saying they’re a “Christian” organization. All too often, that doesn’t indicate what they believe or espouse. It’s a tactic of left-wing groups to use these terms to look more mainstream. The terms connote a more moderate or conservative stance than is actually the case.
No doubt comprised of THE SAME 6-7 people at most.
Being an evangelical Christian, I happen to know a whole lot of evangelicals. I’m also one who is not so denominationally tied in knots, so I am friends with evangelicals from a myriad of persepectives.
Not a one of them would be in favor of Ginsburg as Chief Justice.
ROFLOL!!!!
Just the laugh I needed for the day...
