Congressman Hunter Statement on Evolution:

That's a great reply. I think much of the interest in evolution is about self-image. Some people can't stand to see themselves as beings created by something better than themselves. If they are nothing but the highest product of a biological process, they are not answerable to anyone except themselves. If they do not see themselves as being answerable, then nothing is really wrong in the pursuit of their goals. The "freedom" that this idea gives them is not good for a country based on the idea of rights. Likewise, others just want to add the "begats" in the Bible and have every mystery explained. They can't stand the fact that part of faith is understanding that we won't understand everything.

I'm glad that Mr. Hunter realizes that the most significant question is whether we as a species and each individual is ultimately answerable to a Creator. I like the thought that my president understands that he will someday answer to a higher power than just the voters.

I am an American who prays to his God for help and we solve my problems together. If the commies can remove God from public view, then people will forget begin to forget about God. When God has been forgotten, people will pray to the Government from the cradle to the grave.
