.......the federal government is currently working on the development and construction of a NAFTA Super Highway that could be as wide as four football fields (that is 400 yards) that will basically follow Interstate 35 from the Mexican border at Laredo, Texas, to the Canadian border just north of Duluth, Minnesota. At first glance some might say this is a good thing because we do need to develop the infrastructure of the U.S. But, the purpose behind the Super Highway is not necessarily to benefit the U.S., but rather to benefit all countries involved in NAFTA.
I should mention one point here, the organizations involved in the development of the corridor do not necessarily agree with the statements made in the previous paragraph.

Get ‘R Done...... gotta move those goods coming in from Asia via the port in Prince Rupert BC, Mexico’s ports, West coast or Texas ports.
I was thinking it was so China could expand their port facilities into Mexico and Central America because U.S. ports can't handle the traffic jam forming in the Pacific.
Frankly, it’s EVIL.
Has anyone ever seriously considered how outrageous stupid this is? With probably half the funds the transportation nuts could convert existing commercial rail to high speed rail that would easily carry 5 times the freight, but no, they want to pave half of Texas. They try that and I’m going to form a band of half crazed midget bandits to hassle them every step of the way!
By the way, have any Freepers out there actually seen this thing?
Also in post 2 is a link for Federal funding earmarks for the project.
