Sue Al Gore Instead

Central Florida's most famous Harris Rosen has threatened to sue hurricane forecaster Dr. William Gray claiming Gray's wrong hurricane forecast may have cost Florida billions in tourist money. Rosen says a survey of former guests indicated 70% of those who didn't plan to return cited hurricane fears as the reason.

John Smith, who runs Storm Stoppers, a plywood alternative company that has benefited from busy storm seasons, spends thousand of dollars when an active year is predicted.

"What we do is stock up," Smith said. "When there is a let down, we have all of our capital invested in materials and you know, we have to wait until the next big weather event."

Many Florida business owners wish forecasters would keep their forecasts to themselves instead of providing false alarms.

Rosen's protest is understandable. Forecasters need to understand that their forecasts can cause needless worry and cost people money.

The Atlantic hurricane region covers a very large area. Even when there are numerous storms many will miss land entirely.

If Rosen wants to sue someone he should consider sueing someone with more money than a college professor. Florida's real problem may not be the guesses of Dr. Gray, but the fear mongering of Al Gore and friends who keep claiming that hurricanes will keep getting worse because of global warming.

On the other hand, Rosen might consider a publicity campaign pointing out the failed hurricane forecasts of those who call themselves experts and suggesting that the forecasters should be ignored until they improve their forecasting averages.

I doubt that most people pay any attention to people like William Gray. But,ignorant people do listen to Al Gore and pay attention to his lies.

This is the third year of false alarms about hurricanes. We hear nothing linking these failed predictions to global warming. Next time a hurricane lands on U.S. soil (no matter how many years it takes to happen), I expect wall-to-wall coverage decrying the effects of “global warming”.

The folks who control the weather will decide WHEN and WHERE the hurricanes strike. Shut up already.

Rosen should also sue James Hansen. Maybe he could force Hansen to reveal his "secret sauce" for determining global temperature and the "perfect" global temperature (which was supposedly reached in 1880). Hansen has been pushing the notion that Global Warming will produce dangerous hurricanes:

Jim Hansen: NOAA “by fiat” put out “biased information” on hurricanes

Great idea;...Let's get Al-gore in the Court system and have him explain his position!.
The doom and gloom climate exchange disaster he claims he has discovered is a bunch of hooey!

The notion that if we do not comply to his demands every life on earth will be doomed in the next foreseeable future, is just bogus!

Don’t you know that Karl Rove’s hurricane steering machine that is in the basement of the White House was broken down and he couldn’t get parts for it. So Rove moved to California and started setting those fires. Gas cans and BIC lighters are easy to acquire.

Actually I believe more hurricanes is linked to "global warming" and less hurricanes is linked to "climate change". It's a win-win for the nut cases.

The 2005 Atlantic hurricane season was the most active Atlantic hurricane season in recorded history

Wow! I was so busy burning fossil fuels I failed to realize that a second post-Katrina hurricane season had come and gone without hurricanes. I guess global warming just took a break from the Atlantic to create fires near San Diego this year.

It must be such a drag to be an idiot like Algore or RFK Jr., and have your whole identity as a non-bafoon dependent on major natural disasters occurring on a regular basis.

Back in the 1990s, when he was funny, Lewis Black said that the Today show weather guy of the time would be in prison for failing so miserably (failed to predict a snowfall of 3 feet) if he was in any other profession. :')
