DUmmie FUnnies 03-12-08 ("Spitzer’s Resignation Would Mean a Superdelegate Loss for Hillary")

There now seems to be a new element in the drive for Governor Eliot Spitzer's resignation. It is that his resignation would mean the loss of ONE superdelegate for Hillary Clinton at the Democrat convention as you can see in this KOmmie THREAD titled, "Spitzer’s Resignation Would, In the End, Mean a Superdelegate Loss for Hillary." Yes, just ONE less superdelegate. The Obama wing of the Democrat party are so desperate to defeat Hillary they are actually savoring that ONE superdelegate loss despite the fact that the loss of ONE superdelegate won't affect the outcome since Barack Obama (especially after last night's overwhelming victory in Mississippi) is comfortably ahead of Hillary in the overall delegate count. Personally I don't care one way or another if Spitzer resigns although from the DUmmie FUnnies POV I hope he remains in office since he would generate a lot of great DUFU material as governor. However, to the KOmmies it laughably all comes down to that ONE superdelegate loss for Hillary even though the loss of one delegate will have NO effect on the convention outcome. So let us now watch the KOmmies obsess over a mere loss of ONE superdelegate for Hillary while the commentary of your humble correspondent, noting that you can again access the DUFUs by simply typing DUmmieFUnnies.com in your URL box, is in the [brackets]:

Spitzer’s Resignation Would, In the End, Mean a Superdelegate Loss for Hillary

[That's it. Forget any laws Spitzer has broken. The fact that his resignation means the loss of ONE superdelegate for Hillary means he's toast.]

This is just a quick diary to point out that Spitzer’s resignation, which seems increasingly more likely, would result in the loss of one superdelegate for Hillary. Spitzer is, of course, a superdelegate who has endorsed Hillary and would vote for her in Denver.

[I am blaming Spitzer for Hillary losing since it was his plan to give driver's licenses to illegal aliens and her inability to answer a question about this at a debate that started her big decline in the primaries.]

Under New York law, Lt. Gov. David Paterson would take his place. Paterson is also a superdelegate who has endorsed Hillary. However, under New York law, Paterson’s position would be filled by the president of the state senate, Joseph Bruno, who is a Republican. Bruno would not be allowed to vote in Denver – and he certainly wouldn’t vote for Hillary if he were given the chance.

[Since David Paterson is legally blind, he still doesn't know that Hillary is white...yet. Hee! Hee!]

So Spitzer’s resignation would mean one fewer superdelegate for Clinton. Of course, there is also the guilt by association, which is unfair, but inescapable in the political landscape. The Spitzer case cannot but be damaging for Clinton. But whatever the public relations harm, when the dust settles, Spitzer’s imminent departure will favor Obama mathematically.

[By ONE whole vote. Although it would be great if Hillary lost the nomination by just ONE delegate vote.]

He, his wife, his children are destroyed. And all this site can look at is one less delegate for Hillary Clinton. Quite sad, really.

[But the pettiness is quite FUnnie, really.]

Its been 24 hours so now its time for horse race analysis thats the way political blogging works if you don't like it don't participate in it.

[Make that 24 BUSINESS hours.]

I can't believe this situation all comes down to "another delegate lost for Hillary." For pete's sake, I have never seen so much irrationality here as I have in the last 24 hours and that includes all the silly candidate diaries.

[Shhh! Don't discourage their pettiness. It makes for great humor.]

Got to admit the perverse side of me wants to know what you get from a $5500/hour hooker that you can't get from your average cheating housewife...

[Spitzer didn't have the charm to woo somebody's wife. He had to PAY for it.]

This was a terrible and incredibly stupid thing he did, since he of all people knew of every federal law he was breaking. It would be incredible, completely unbelievable, if it weren't rue.

[I thought her name was Amber, not Rue.]

Spitzer does not have any sort of special relationship w/ Clinton anymore than he does with Sen. Charles Schumer. Spitzer is no more Clinton's close political associate than is, say, Majority Leader Sheldon Silver of the NY Assembly. Spitzer was never busy campaigning for Hillary, but his replacement, Lt. Gov. Paterson, in fact WAS quite active--even going to Iowa to campaign for her.

[Someone needs to tell legally blind Paterson that Hillary is white.]

Is it my imagination or is Eliot Spitzer turning into a Muppet? Look at the expression on his face. I almost expect the Cookie Monster to show up behind him. Has the body language chick on O'Reilly weighed in on this Muppet morphing?

Nice picture.

LOL! I wondered yesterday if spitzer was a super delegate. I hope by time for the convention he is kicked out of office. One less vote for the hildabeast.

Gotta agree with this DUmmie. You couldn't make this stuff up and sell it to anyone. No one would believe it, even as fiction.

Oh, Btw, TOP 10,000!?!?!?!

Barry is just ONE superdelegate from taking the nomination outright...

She even has him written in her little black book as "Superdelegate #9."

There’s a problem with all of this.

If I were the Obamanation, I would still worry.

Last week, it was commonly cited that Messalina Agrippina needs to win circa 97% of all the yet-unelected delegates, to get the nomination.

In the small print was buried the fact that the Obamanation needs to win circa 75% of all the yet-unelected delegates, to get the nomination.

The Obamanation “won” Mississippi yesterday.....and 18 delegates. Messalina Agrippina won 12 delegates.

Apparently there’s still three delegates from Mississippi to be decided upon (at least as of early this morning).

Well, 18 delegates out of 30, or 33, isn’t anywhere close to the 75% needed.

I think this is going to play out for a very long time yet, and naturally we’re all elated.

As I read this thread Three Dog Night's song "One" is playing in my head. Fodder for Rev. Charles?

One

One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
Two can be as bad as one
It's the loneliest number since the number one

No is the saddest experience you'll ever know
Yes, it's the saddest experience you'll ever know
`Cause one is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
One is the loneliest number, worse than two

...

Has Super Delegate Bill Clinton declared yet or is he still leaning toward Obama? If he declares for Obama, Hillary should come clean on all the enabling she has done so that Obama loses a super delegate.
